Re: Motor Rules
Jim
Jim I'm serious as a heart attack. I read the rules again and I'll be darned displacement is open. Harold by making the rules like he has up there may have opened the door for us wana-be Midget owners. I think I can build a very competitive 4 valve motor for less than a guy is going to pay for a freshen up on an Esslinger and it won't require a freshen up every 10 races, more like every other season. Salvage motor................$800.00 Racing pistons..............$1000.00 racing rods...................$1200.00 Valves and springs........$1000.00 Machine work DIY...........,$500.00 Injector throttle bodies..$2500.00 reusable.......If DIY $500.00 Dry sump and plumbing and pan.......................$1500.00 reusable electronics and pluming..$2500.00 reusable total $11,000.00 total package of that $6500.00 is reusable equipment = $4500.00 motor with I would bet 400+ HP Honest Dad himself:6::6: |

I think Casey Shuman burned it up down in Florida a few years ago.. Pat I think for a 400 hp electric motor you would need like a 1000 amp 440 volt extension cord, and we would probably keep tangling up with them pesky infield tires. I guess it would be kinda like a high speed May-pole dance.:5::5:;) Honest Dad himself:6::6: |
