Re: Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica, Danica
With all due respect to those who think Patrick had "by far the BEST equipment", that thought reflects on exactly how little you know about the ARCA Series.
The cars prepared by Eddie Sharp Racing, Cunningham Racing, Bill Venturini Racing, Ken Schrader Racing, Richard Childress Racing, Frank Kimmel Racing and Bill Gerhardt Racing are in the same class as the car Danica drove. Actually, I believe her car was prepared by Bill Gerhardt. ARCA is a lot like we see at the local tracks. Some very well funded and prepared cars, some in middle, and some lacking in one or both aspects. Since the increased use of the ARCA as a development series a few years ago, the number of cars at the top end of the scale has increased dramatically. She did a good job considering the lack of experience in a heavy car. But her overall racing experience showed up as a benefit too like the grass bit. Yes, she will probably wad up a car or two or three and the critics will have a field day. But she did impress a lot of doubters yesterday. Alli did a good job too! I doubt she will make the mistake of pulling to the outside the next time. ---------- Post added at 03:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 PM ---------- Quote:
I'm of the conviction that "hype", in fact "any hype" about racing is extremely good for the sport. When you have NEW people (media, fans, potential sponsors) showing an interest in motorsports, how can it be a bad thing? Bob Parsons (Go-Daddy) must have been like a kid in a candy store with the exposure he received. Don't you think other "potential sponsors" noticed that? Yes, it's pavement! Yes, it's full bodied cars! But increased solid interest will have a trickle down benefit to other forms of motorsports. At least that's the way I see it. JMHO, Joe |

Like many I watched the ARCA race expecting to see "little miss thing" wad her car up within the first 25 laps. I thought she did a pretty nice job. Yes, she got way more attention than a lesser known rookie who raced for the first time with little experience in an overweight, under tired race car would get. For this one race I would agree with her crew chief.
She done good. |

Thank goodness her last name isn't Swindell or she would really take a ribbing on here. Tom

I'm not a Danica fan, but I gotta throw my 2 cents worth in. I thought she did a good job considering what she was driving and who she was up against. Let's see what happens when she goes to Nationwide.

While comparing. Does anyone remember our friend Blake Feese winning a ARCA race at Kentucky in his first or second ARCA try. Help, I think this is correct!

Just saw on the ESPN ticker that she has decided to enter the Nationwide series race at Daytona next weekend.....SURPRISE!!!!!
I almost bet NASCAR ALMIGHTY told her she had to or offered her a big fat bonus to after they saw the ratings and message board activity following the ARCA race. By the way, when is the last time anyone has seen an ARCA race air 3 times in an 18 hour period like Saturdays race did? Hell it had more reruns than the Bud Shootout had as of 2:00 PM EST on Sunday.... Coincidence????? I THINK NOT |
