Re: Paragon KISS Updates Right Here
Here is some food for thought. Jon Stanbrough didn't run particularly well in his heat race. Granted he started shotgun on the field but he fell one position short of transferring out to the feature. By not transferring out he had to run the B main. Jeff Bland Jr had the same fate as Stanbrough and he also had to run the B main.
Last night that was probably an advantage for both of them as they marched their way to the front. Track conditions changed from the heat races and with no track prep prior to the feature, Jon and Jeff were able to take advantage of what they learned in the B main. The conversation of track prep prior to the feature came up on another thread last week and some drivers like it others don't Was running the B main an advantage last night? I think it was. I may be way off here, what do you guys and gals think? |
Re: Paragon KISS Updates Right Here
Mudpacker, Jon ran well in his heat race he just had some good drivers in front of him, Chase Stockon deserves recognition for not making 1 mistake in that heat race and Jon ran him clean and hard. Great job by both drivers!:6:
As for track prep, that track was awesome all night long, there was no reason what so ever to go out there and mess with that track. Its been the same for 30 years and mother nature has worked it every day and its still the same. Most drivers don't want the track re-worked unless its just totally junk. As for the Truckers team, word was they let Jonathen go and didn't want to start on the tail of the B-main with Hmiel. Someone also said Truckers may pull the plug after Speedweeks???? :13: LOVED THE OPEN TIRE RULE TOO!!! Great night of racing at the Paraga-Nation. Congratulations to Keith on a well run night of racing!!!:8: ---------- Post added at 10:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:24 AM ---------- By the way, that was the 1st time Brady Short had ever been to Paragon! Congratulations on the KISS Championship!:8: Also, I thought it was really cool of Don helping Aric Gentry fix his fuel tank so he could get back out to race.:6: |

Congratulations to Keith on a well run night of racing!!!:8:[COLOR="Black"] Motormasher, I respectfully don't agree with your assessment of the heat race. Jon started 9th and ended up 4th. In my opinion, he didn't run particularly well in his 10 lap heat race. Chase Stockton did a great job holding Jon off, however no one had anything for him in the feature, including Chase. He was up to 8th at the halfway point and continued his march to the front. I agree that the track didn't need to be reworked last night. Mother nature helped earlier by laying down some moisture. Keith Ford deserves a big thanks for putting on a great show.:8: As for the Truckers situation, I don't ever like to speculate without hearing from the source. If there is credible news to report, the proper people will let us know. We certainly don't need a bunch of loose cannons running off of the mouth about this or any other driver/owner situation. Enough said!:15: |

I was fortunate and got right out, but I have observed at other times when I have been to Paragon that people are prone to triple parking, even when the lot is not muddy. The same often happens at Bloomington. I don't know how to educate these numbskulls, but something needs to be done. Tri-State Speedway directs the fans to their parking space and enforces their policies. Fans do not get blocked in. That is probably the only way to prevent these inconsiderate people from detracting from an evening of fun at the track. |

Re: Paragon KISS Updates Right Here
Hey guys,
What happened Saturday night was nothing unexpected, we had a couple of bad nights, and I already knew coming in there that it was something that could happen. With these tough times everyone has been going through, it's also affecting the business of Roger and Barb there at the Trucker's shop. They've been forced to lay off several employees on both the truck shop side and also the race side. It's just part of this rough economy, we didn't part on any bad terms what so ever, and all still friends. I personally can't say for sure whether the 12 car will continue to run or not, but I know times are tough and I'm just glad I had to opportunity to fill the seat for the time I did. Jonathan |
