Your name, when brought up at THAT caused a lot of laughter and bad stories to be told about how much of a pompous ass you are.

Stopped by to tell the stanbrough crew congrats on my way out last night and rumor in the pits was mscs decided to tell balloo not to show for next few shows. What a crock! That was totally their eff up - got to be careful or they'l tell me not to come back to their tea party. I've never seen a more totally blatant unfair move on a series part. A crew member for another team said they were tracking laps from when they were pushed off and there was more than 80 laps before the red was shown for fuel. It don't take a rocket scientist to know them guys was gonna run out. 4 guys go to tail cause no one on mscs can count! Maybe they need to spend some money on better scorers. Balloo had every right to be pissed! every fan around me agreed and we all cheered when they pushed him back on track. All them guys towed in twice for that show and 4 of them get shafted! most of them try to make a living that way and mscs screws 4 of em! Mscs should be embarrassed by that joke of show. Shame on you mscs!!! As a sprint car fan I want to apologize to you late model and scora fans for not getting the show that was advertised to be there and voluntarily cutting your show cause mscs don't know what they're doing!

I wouldn't put all of the blame on the MSCS. The fuel deal, ok. But not the length of the show. Only 1 Wrecker = almost 30min red to clean up 4 car wreck:7:. If it weren't for the MSCS crew working the track (as well as the fan help)there probably wouldn't have even been a race. I am glad to see they did the right thing and let Ballou re-join once they realized he was not the only one. Aside form the delays, and long night, WOW what a good night of racing action. Battles thru out the fields for all classes, last lap passes for the win, doesn't get much better. Hats off to the SCORA guys, had not seen them race yet, did not know what to expect. They put on one heck of a show.

I agree they did great job getting track ready. And the one wrecker thing is a total lack of planning by THAT. But that fuel thing is the most obviously unfair move by a series I've seen in a while. Even more sad to further punish a driver for rightfully being upset. Great job by fans and officials that helped with getting show going but poor execution on running that feature.

Sorry to hear of what happened to Ballou and the other guys running out of fuel but it's happened before like with the World of Outlaws. Guys start running out of fuel then a yellow is thrown then turns to a red to fuel the rest of the field. First guy that ran out goes to the back. Yeah I know it sucks.

Congrats to Team Foxco!

That's the craziest thing I heard of. Mscs is no where close to the caliber of a WOO show and I doubt you would see a WOO show go 80+ laps on big half mile with no fuel stop in a 2.5 hour feature.... Mscs was running that show - their rules format officials scoring etc. - they're responsible for that yellow. If those guys would have ran out on lap 10 then shame on them. But 80 (yellow laps included)laps in??? Those drivers had no way to know it was going that long nor are they allowed to add fuel in work area - another mscs rule. Those guys had zero opportunity to refuel. So they just run out???? Because mscs can't calculate a fuel stop??? Give me a break! Mscs was responsible for that yellow - not those drivers. They can't refuel and their fuel cells are only so big. 4 guys run out at the same time then a red is thrown for refuel??? And those 4 get the shaft??? Maybe they were first pushed off at the beginning and had even more laps than the others. No I would like to see in mscs rules that if you run out of fuel in an 80 lap event its your own fault but the lucky ones that hadn't ran out yet get to refuel. I think it was blatantly unfair to those 4 drivers for being sent to the tail when they had no opportunity to refuel beforehand and it was only supposed to be a 30 lap feature. Mscs caused that yellow by not accounting for fuel laps all along and giving everyone opportunity to refuel.

nonwingit,

How about giving me a call and talking to me about this entire situation? I don't understand why people find it "hip" or "cool" to get on here and bash people. I am as big of a fan as anybody on here. Heck maybe to much of a fan at times. But i just wish people would get the facts straight before they started bashing a sanctioning body for trying to provide something for the fans. I would be more then willing to share, listen, and discuss like grown adults whats happened or going on.

So anybody can feel free to contact me anytime they need or want too.....

The infield had quite a few people in there the grandstands were so so. I think weather and track conditions in the morning may have turned some people away.

I was at THAT from Sat morn until the last flag flew sunday night. Got rained out Sat night and almost all off the ILMS crate racers got Hotel rooms and spent the night. We had a good time, yes it was a long weekend but hell we where still at a race track with alot of good friends and some damn good racin once the track was ready. I like how people like to B!tch and moan about a track that they were not even at because they dont like who is running it or announcing it. Things that make ya go HMMMMMMMM

Great question Lloyd,

The MSCS has 2 pills draws at our trailer. The 1st draw is for starting spot in your heat. The 2nd draw is incase you win your heat it will determine where the heat winners start in the A. Last night Jon Stanbrough's 2nd draw was a 68, Jon Siscoe's 2nd draw was a 95, and Robert Ballou's 2nd draw was a 98. So the lowest 2nd draw number from all heat race winners will start on the pole and trickle down from there.

Let me see if I have my facts straight and if any of these are wrong i'll call you and you can correct me but I'm pretty sure you won't find anything wrong:

FACT: it was your race
FACT: mscs was making decisions according to their rules
FACT: under their rules you can't put fuel in at any time even in work area
FACT: you were at over 80 laps including yellows
FACT: 4 guys ran out of fuel you went yellow
FACT: you then went red and allowed rest of field to refuel
FACT: you put 4 guys who ran out of fuel back on tail
FACT: all their fuel cells are same size
FACT: it was 2.5 hour feature
FACT: you didn't calculate fuel stop or you wouldn't have had 4 guys run out on same lap
FACT: you didn't tell those guys to be prepared for 80+ lap race with no fuel stop FACT: you did have them come out before feature and run the water into the track adding additional laps
Now what don't I have straight so I can quit "bashing" you? I'm just curious why you would punish 4 guys for your oversight by sending them to the tail?

Re: That

I’m going to try to be as nice as I can be so bare with me. First off I have to give a huge thank you to Tommy Helfrich for all his help in getting in, what should have been a canceled show. Thank god it wasn’t a USAC race or it would have been done before it got started. The positive was that we got to see a race at one of history’s most famous race tracks. However there were a few negatives as well. The one tow truck deal is inexcusable. The Action Track staff blew it on that one to be sure. The race track was to be expected,I mean what did you really expect? The woman’s rest rooms need to be addressed as well. I mean if there not fixed where is “Motormasher” and “Superduke” going to go to relieve themselves? There was an actual problem with them and does need to be addressed. Now let me get a couple of things straight. The MSCS feature was a marathon but it was not the fault of the MSCS staff. They didn’t run 80 laps total before the competition red was brought out. The MSCS staff had said from the get go that the magic number was going to be 70 laps and at that point a competition red was given. I also want to thank “RacinJason” for making the two day marathon fun for me we had a lot of laughs along with Chris Nunn. The ILMS feature had it’s problems to but again the race track has to take a lot of the blame with only one tow truck and the track condition being as it was. The ILMS guys were a lot of fun to be with in the tower and they are a great group. The next item I want to mention is that “The rich kid from New York” out classed the field is total “BS”!! If you “Motormasher” would get off your ass and come to a race you could see for yourself. I talked to you earlier in the week and you said you where going to be there as did a few others so I don’t want to hear how bad the race was or how this sucks or that sucks when you won’t or can’t show up. The SCORA series has had some GREAT races but is on the verge of collapse due to the “I’ll shows” that never seem to show. The series was designed for a particular group of racers that said they wanted a series to run in but so far we have only had a handful of teams that have committed themselves to the series. So if it goes down the tubes you have only you to blame but don’t you dare bad mouth the guys that have showed up to support Sam and the series. I just as soon have your type just shut up and stay at home and there is nothing "YAWN" about our guys or our races!!! Oh on a side note Alex Coonan is at home now with a neck injury and I’ll try to get a hold of him or his family tomorrow to get an update.

I'm just curious how you heard 70 was the magic number? Was that announced at the drivers meeting? I don't think it was announced on the pa? Or maybe I missed it. How do they figure that? From the first car pushed? I'm honestly curious - not trying to be nasty. Only reason I ask is somebodys crew member said they counted over 80 from their initial push....and was pretty sure about it. I'm just honestly interested in how that formula works and when it begins?

I was in the tower the whole time. Right from the start there was going to a red flag thrown at the 70 laps mark for fuel. Now the laps started counting after the green flag. The red flag actually came out at lap 68.

Ok I think I understand. Were the drivers told? And why wouldn't it start after the first car was pushed - there's probably the 10 - 12 laps additional getting the line set the four wide...etc. Why wouldn't they start counting at first push? That still takes fuel? I'm not expecting you to have an answer just wondering out loud.
