D.O. has a good idea. It's the only way to assure they are who they say they are. Plus, once you're set up on on PayPal, you'll be in position to click the "Donate" button and help Bill get over some of these technical issues he's been battling, lately.

What someone has to say should stand or fall on it's own merit. The name behind it shouldn't matter.
All this "so, what's your name" stuff is childish "yo mama" playground intimidation. This forum seems pretty well policed by the users & admin.
If someone feels their name lends credibility or context to their post, they can include it.
No one should be pressured to disclose their name on a nonsecure internet forum -too many crazies out there.

Thanks everybody for the opinions!

I don't plan on making anyone pay to be a part of this site. I like the idea of setting aside the money for injured drivers, but I think each individual should make that decision for themselves.

I think I will leave the posting rules as is... real names are encouraged but not required in posts. I think the point that Slick made about most of us can figure out who is being honest and has integrity is a right on.

Thanks again for the input!

good idea, but I trust no one here. These boards are not that hard to hack, and I do not want my card # stolen. Hacks teach new hackers the basics by brakeing into boards like this. They are normally very easy and not well protected. If it has not happened here be thankful. A board that I am moderator on was hacked. When i logged on it was turned into a islamic terrorist board. took a week to get things fixed. You would not beleive how many people just go away. good luck though

No, I don't mind that everybody know who I am but I don't like to have to sign my name every time I post something. If someone wants to know who I am all they have to do is ask.
Also, I think that being anonomous is good sometimes when you are just stating an opinion.

I use to sign my real name and some still didn't believe me. :)

You are less likely to be a whiner or act like an idiot when you post your real name. I have no problem posting mine. We are into racing for the fun and also the enjoyment of meeting fellow racers.

Tim Watson says HELL YEAH to this poll! Everybody thinks Augie is Tim Watson anyway! He was thinking of getting a t-shirt that says "No i'm not Tim Watson":rolling
