Rube you might be right, none of us remembered BP Jr getting lapped but we couldnt figure out how he got that far back up to the front. Some of the best racing of the night was when Grant, Whitt and Hunter came up on about 5 lapped cars running high low and all over the place, watching them make their way through them was worth the price of admission(which was 1/2 price for HARF members). Bad luck for Grant who jumped the koosh in 2 got sideways and shot down into the infield where he did about a minutes worth of doughnuts trying to continue, he was successful but by that time they had already thrown the yellow and he went to the back anyway. Gulick was awsome again tonight, started inside of row 5 and was just behind the leaders most of the race. Like mud packer said he showed what he's got by gassing it up on the high side with a flat left rear to nip Hunter at the line for 2nd. Just another of many great nights Sunday nights of racing at Kokomo.

Re: kokomo updates???
FINAL:
1) Whitt 2) Gulick 3) Hunter% 4) Fitz 5) Short 6) Elson 7) Carter 8) Faas 9) K. Gross 10) Grant 11) Ott 12) Welpott 13) BP 14) Hendrick 15) Fredrickson 16) Schafer 17) Spencer 18) Throttle 19) Parker 20) KT Jr. 21) D. Gross A few thoughts.... Anybody who was paying attention could have told you BP was lapped. Cole Whitt runs the bottom at new Kokomo better than anyone, and it's refreshing to see a kid who has no qualms about playing huggy pole. It was great to see Schuerenberg back in the 11. Watching him run the fence was a 2008 flashback, it's too bad he had the flat RF because he would have had something for Whitt. Gulick continues to impress and improve, even with a flat LR. Justin Grant was pretty much scary in the A tonight, but man was he fun to watch. His fast lap of the feature? 13.436. Laps 14-18, with Grant, Schuerenberg and Whitt slicing and dicing through traffic and banging wheels was as good as racing of any kind gets. Lastly, anyone who honestly -- honestly -- thinks that Kokomo's racing product ranks behind any race track is either blind, an unapologetic homer or somehow caught Kokomo on a bad night, even though Kokomo's "bad nights" are better than most places' good nights. I've never seen a race track that generates racing like this one does. Even the thunder car races are barn-burners most of the time. |
Re: kokomo updates???
HARF HUNDRED's finished like this:
Jonathan Hendrick: 9th @ GC + 2nd @ L'burg + 14th @ Kokomo = 25 points = $1000. Andrew Elson: 19th @ GC + 3rd @ L'burg + 6th @ Kokomo = 28 points = $200. -so, after 3 tough nights of racing at 3 different tracks, Jonathan Hendrick wins our $1000. by just "3" points, damn good racing to all involved. and we could not have dealt with any finer gentlemen than Jonathan and Andrew (and his father Bill). Special Thanks to all the folks at all 3 race tracks for all they did to help us with this promotion. We hope we get to do it again next year, but until then, check our website for upcoming discount nights at other local race tracks (www.harfonline.org), see you at the races, bob:22: |
