Could we please do crown races in the fall at Springfield annually. Pref a little warmer day but the track is awesome without the 90 degree heat burning it up. Also we should all feel blessed as race fans to witness Kyle Larson in 2020. Magical season.

We have never been to Springfield when it wasn’t blazing hot....until today. Lol. With a 48 degree surface temp and 41 degree wind chill, we were longing for a traditional 90-degree race day that we are used to.

Nevertheless, we had plenty of layers to keep us warm (for the most part) and we enjoyed our first and only silver crown race of the year. Reminded us of how much we’ve missed these beautiful cars. After Larson pulled ahead he wasn’t challenged too much but the battle from 2nd through 8th was fun to watch. Only 2 yellows which allowed for long green flag runs. Unfortunately a lapped car interfered with Grant’s ability to make a move towards the end.

We are glad we made the long drive as we both walked away smiling. Huge thanks to Bob Sargent and whatever he had to do to make this race happen. We can’t wait until 2021 when we hopefully get back to normal and can see these beautiful cars more often.

Too bad they weren’t allowed to run at DuQuoin! Glad they got this one in.
