Re: 4 Corner Hoosier What Track/Sanctioning Bodies
Good point and they did blow bottom ends out. My dad's motor which he ran in Super Modified's (100 inch champ car with a wing) had a bottom end out of an early 80's Chevy van with some head work done. However, these weekend warriors could run nearly every weekend on their weekly paychecks and the crowds loved every minute of it. Toeing the line is understandable. However, if they tore em down like they did back in the older days it would not happen. If it was suspicious it did not pass. I wish they could have taken the wings off of them back then but that is what we had in our area and so we had to go with it. Still some of the best side by side and slide jobs I ever can remember.

The other thing too is that theres a lot of variables from track to track and state to state to what lengths racers will go to toe that line.
We've been to some tracks where you felt like everyone was there for fun and most likely legal. 150 miles down the road and it was cutthroat and likely most everyone wasn't legal. |
