Is there a reason they did not go with the 604 like Wilmot, WI did? Its kind of ironic that Plymouth is running wings in non wing country and Wilmot is running non wings in wing country. The wingless did put on a good show for the first year of a new class

Actually, before the closing of places like Avilla and Warsaw, the northern 1/3 of the state was winged territory.

Warsaw is a distant memory having been my "home track"

As for Plymouth, I hope they get a good turn out in these new cars. But you won't see me there. As a fan I know it's our responsibility to buy tickets, buy beer, buy pit passes, and ultimately keep short track (dirt) racing alive.

But everytime I go to this track I'm thoroughly unimpressed by the prep and the racing. Yes the mods put on a good show and seen some good shows by the "hobby stock" classes but as far as open wheel goes I continue to be unimpressed.

The new clay last year didn't improve the quality of racing and for all the hype of this WoO/USAC show you know the WoO crew is gonna come in and set up a dry slick track which in turn will ruin (by my experience) any chance of a racy track for the midgets like we'd see at a track during say, Indiana Midget Week. I don't try to be negative, that's not doing anyone any good. Just speaking my mind.

I wish Plymouth luck this year. Hopefully this new class gets a decent turnout and the fans come in. Especially with South Bend in the air hopefully some pavement fans come over to the dirty side.

Actually, before the closing of places like Playland Park, Roby Speedway, the old Fort Wayne track and Hammond Speedway, the northern 1/3 of the state was cageless territory. :D

You're right, that certainly was a long time ago.

And I have to admit my stops at Plymouth haven't been perfect either.

As far as 305, 360, 602, etc. mentioned elsewhere, I used to go to motorcycle races and laugh at them and say the best thing about sprint cars was that (at that time) they were pretty much the same everywhere. That sure isn't the case anymore, and I don't like it.

If it was up to me, it would be 410 sprint cars without wings on the schedule at Plymouth. Imagine a Friday (Gas City), Saturday (Plymouth) and Sunday (Kokomo) circuit and what it would do for sprint car racing in northern Indiana.

If Plymouth had announced they were running nonwing sprints every week, there'd be people on here throwing a fit and asking where all the cars are going to come from.

Plymouth has been running mini sprints and you have to believe from that bunch there are going to be a few of them move up, and if it's successful, more will follow. We need some NEW blood.

I don't know if this will work out, but a track within my driving distance added sprint cars to their regular program. To me, that's a good thing.

I agree as far as Plymouth running 410s on a regular basis.

Being up north I'm faced with either having to go south on Saturday nights or over to Ohio. If Plymouth ran sprints regularly it would be great, especially with Gas City only running a limited schedule on Fridays.

The only downside is you don't wanna pull too many cars away from all the tracks in the south that run Saturday nights.

I for one don't care what a track runs as long as they run! I believe they call them Track owners or Track promoters for a reason and the reason is they make the decisions on what is done! Kuddos to any track making what they think are improvements. Run more classes, Less Classes does it really matter as long as they are Racing! Many tracks aren't open anymore. But the ones that are lets hope they stay open for many years to come.
