Clayton is very good for the sport. Watching Clayton at Tri-state is really something. I often walk away shaking my head trying to figure out if he is brilliant or just plain crazy. He brings a buzz to the crowd when he races. It's like JS in the Fox 53 car. As soon as you see him pull onto the track, you know something special could be getting ready to happen. However, I wouldn't want to have to pay for all the cars he has gone through. $:icon_smile_blackeye$

He always runs on the edge and when you do that, occasionally, you are going to go over the edge. The more times you go over the edge the more you learn exactly where the edge is and then you can consistently run closer to it without crossing over it. That is called experience and unfortunately you will tear up some equipment obtaining it.

As far as the 10 car goes some great drivers and great crew chiefs don't mesh and they will never be successful together. Others click right away and are very successful.

As an example, for whatever reason, Jon Stanbrough and I didn't click even though we were both successful before and after our teaming. Jerry and I clicked right away as the first two USAC races we ran we were 3rd and 2nd. Clayton and I have had two races together and he crashed in the first and won the second (Gas City Sprintweek 07) even though he tried to crash about every lap while leading!!!

Even though he is a gasser, I haven’t seen him do many blatant take out moves to gain position on the race track. He is very exciting to watch which will put fans in the stands and grow the sport that we all love. So count me as a Clayton fan and I wish him luck in his racing.

I like you RacerRob, you talk like a man with a lot of sense. To me watching Daron run is done with my heart in my mouth as they say but I have never seen him disrespect any driver unless the other driver has given him numerous reasons to do so. I have never seen him "take out" another driver. He knows all too well how dangerous the sport is. I wish DAron all the luck there is and truly hope he gets
his chance, which is all he wants, to be able to keep racing, which is what he loves.

There is something in the air when Clayton is at a race track. He brings some kind of special electricity because you know that you might something amzing...it might be standing on the gas, a slide job, or even getiing upside down in an amazing way but he is special. The race at Tri-State in the Bush car was just that. He drove harder than anyone I can remember. Sure he ended upside downin turn one but that was still just amazing. His heat race and the first 10 laps of the feature were well worth the price of admission.

I agree with some other posts that he rarely takes anyone out with him. He is clean, fast, and on the edge.

Our family is a huge fan on the Modern Day Cowboy. Little Sam always asks if Daron Clayton will be at every sprint car race we go to.

Even if he did run off dad's money, who cares, at least he wasn't out spending all of his money buying rides from people like Darland, Drake.

The truckers cars are shitboxes whiteside has a horrible maintenance program if they had someone that wanted to be good those cars could be amazing.
