Chuck I don't think its a loophole, it probably is just track rules. The tracks that do not allow alcohol to be brought in sell beer at a reasonable price(except Kentucky Speedway). The revenue from these sales help pay for the purse and operating cost of the track, I don't have a problem with that. I would like to be able to drink a miller lite in the stands at the burg though. I have had allergic reactions to certain alcoholic beverages in the past, it makes my butthole swell up and take over my whole body.:D

I'll be hitting L'Burg for the first time tomorrow and Thurs. Are there any showers close to the track? Any good liquor stores around where I can grab some good beer as well?:D

There is a restroom and showerhouse on the fairgrounds. I don't know if it will be open or not but I hope so!

I believe that law has been around in some form before, or at least since, I had the track. I've never known it to be enforced (by the State) at any track. When Greg Staab had the track, the beer distributor tried to convince Greg to enact that policy but, Greg decided against doing it. I can see both sides of it. The promotor has to generate revenue but, sometimes giving a little to make a place more fan friendly will actually pay more dividends in the long run.

Cecil, you nailed it. Most tracks would let you until excise stepped in. I know when I worked at Kokomo we were on a night to night permit. Excise are real sticklers and I know for a fact they were who stepped up and stopped carry in at Gas City. The tracks that let you carry in are the ones who don't sell beer. I do know one thing being on here talking about tracks that violate the rule is probably a good way to bring them unwanted attention from excise.

The same thing happened at Eldora. That's just the way it is...

Well there's a certain track in Ind. that most of us adore that sells beer and lets you bring in (cans only) as well.
