I would bet the promoters are hoping that a "boycot" of usac is successful, then they will not have to compete with usac and can run races all year for $6500 ( they do raise them once in a while when usac is close, huh, when the crowd is smaller and there bigger local guys run with usac they can afford to raise the purse).

usac charges a fee for officials, how many they have, and what they pay is not of concern in regards to the price of a pitpass or non member fee.The promoter pays for the officials not the competitor.

Be careful what you wish for and who you follow because your wish may come true. If usac was to close shop then all the best will be in your back yard each week! Then the locals will be running in the b-main.

How many local tracks have an ambulance that can transport. how many have a paramedic? Be careful of your answer?

From a fans stand point I am behind you 100%. I would love to see all the big guns each week at the local tracks for a discount price!!

Key word is USAC worked for its members to get in for a reduced price. Non members 35.00 plus the 40.00 entry fee. So we have choice become member for both car owner and driver around 500.00

MSCS does have a membership but it is I think between 50 to 100. But that is for all year and you are guaranteed 100 bucks when you hit the track.

I am glad USAC has higher purse but not happy they do not share it with all that compete.

Must be one of the reasons I never go there, and if I do go there, I sure won't go to the pits!

USAC has the best insurance bar none in sprint car racing. But after talking to Greg Stabb last week the insurance is different for non members than members. If this is wrong please correct me.

Ossuks I am attaching my post from another thread. I respect your opinion and hope USAC is very succesfull and local is to. Hope this helps you understand what I am saying.

Multiply that times every driver that decides the same thing and it adds up quick. So if I am a promoter I would gladly pay 90.00 more per car in sanctioning fee to make sure those guys come back. It is simple to fix. In the contract state every car over 36 cars is $90.00 added to the purse payable after the event. $40.00 can go to USAC saving us the entry fee and $50.00 for every car that didnt transfer through the non qualifiers. Or best case scenerio find a non qualifiers race sponsor for all season and that money goes to those racers. Again not expecting show up money just some money for competing and a thank you for being there supporting the race.

This person obviously doesn't own a sprint car or have to put up with all the extra "crap" we have to do when we show up at a USAC race. Such as rent radio's if you don't own your own and put on or take things off your car that aren't "USAC legal". Not to mention be required to have a hans device and don't get me wrong hans devices save alot of broken necks but if the driver doesn't want to wear them they shouldn't be required to in order to race. Like having on too many panels or not enough panels on the car. USAC in my opinion is a joke. I was glad Bloomington cancelled Friday night. I agree with you totally Kevin. Furthermore the locals are the backbone of any track and the fans are going to support them at their "local" track regardless if USAC is around or not. Sure it's exciting to see all the big name teams with all their "fancy stuff" but it's just as exciting to me to watch Dickie in our car that us "locals" put together. :action-smiley-049:

I would like to add one thing. I am not doing all of this just because it is USAC. If any organazation or local track were charging a entry fee and not paying anything for participation I would be doing the same thing. I am a guy that stands up for what I believe in. In closing I will say it again I wish USAC the best and hope they change this situation. I would love to particpate again with them. With the talent pool and the racing we as fans are seeing they have a great item to showcase. If they do not take advantage of what they have shame on them.

I understand usac must make some changes to right the ship, but passing more costs onto the owners and drivers???

If usac only wants 25-35 cars in the future so be it. But if I were a local promoter trying to make a buck I would be pitchin a fit. Let me ask you this, Who puts more butts in the seats at a usac show at Bloomington? A. Brady Bacon or B. Kevin Briscoe I would hands down go with answer B. Nothing against Brady Bacon or the other "superstars" of usac but how many people from OK. are gonna drive out here to fill the seats on a friday night. Whether or not usac wants to admit it or not they need the local to help fill the seats at the local bullrings. Because if the seats arent full, the promoter isnt makin money.

Money is the issue here, but almost more importantly to me is the feeling you get when you show up to a usac event and shell out your hard earned cash and you get the feeling that they dont really want you to be here. In the past you basically get the feeling that they are doing you the favor by taking your money and letting you into one of there events. Forget that, the mscs and other promoters get it right. Us as racers are the ones putting are butts on the line to put the product they sell on the track.

I'm in 100% agreement that entry fees with no payout are completely ludicrous, and hurting the sport. I support Kevin Briscoe.

I have read a lot of posts from fans who say that USAC puts on great racing. To those who believe this, I will respond with one thing to think about: Fans don't come to the track to see USAC officials walk around. Fans pay admission to see the competition ON THE TRACK. It's the competition -- owners and drivers who are putting on the show, not the officials who are administering the event, that puts fans in the stand.

Owners and drivers can make choices about where they race. Don't ever forget that.

Let's see how the Pennsylvania swing fares this June when local stars and owners find out they have to pay additional entry fees and license fees to run a USAC race. Should be interesting.

And I always wondered why this guy I know called them USUCK. The world of outlaws used to walk up and pay you before the racing started your tow money, but DIRT put a stop to that, I guess USAC and DIRT think they can put on a show without racers and cars. Wake up people!
