all the MSCS payout does is fatten the already well-to-do teams. after 4th or 5th place it's a regular show payout. like i said before, $10k to win $200 to start, $3k to win $200 to start, and as Hurst said, $275 for 8th after running 40 laps in a $10K show. That's AWFUL!!!!!

Re: West Coast Weak Payouts???

In all fairness to the masses who spend their money to see the big money shows I wil abstain from any other comments about any sanctioning bodies payoffs. I will take a glancing poke at their unwillingness to post a complete payoff before the show though. This might explain the less than expected car counts ? A bad draw that puts you on the back of a fast heat in which your finish firmly plants you in the C main where a tangle sends you home with $25.00 is not very condusive to faithfully following a series .

With that said I will agree by that having 2 major players offering the fans a quality product is good entertainment . It gives the posters on here good banter and makes the racetrack operator and association management money . The 50/50 purses are bigger and everyone gets home late but in good spirits since the action was so good . As long as this keeps up there will be racing to be enjoyed by all.

Old school guys like Cecil and ourselves will just have to either adapt or bypass the biggies in favor of lesser paying shows where the talent and car counts aren`t quite as robust. It paid better back in the day because that 100 dollars was half my weeks wages 25 years ago. Economics has killed the fun but not the reasons we still show up . It has more or less become a quest now . A quest to see how many nights a DT-3 will run or how long our old dually will last. Racin is a habit we`ve got so we`ll keep showing up anyway.
