Exactly.

The last outlaw show I went to we, and many others, parked across the street. Keith asked for opinions, I wish he would address legitimate concerns. With that said I would love to see this happen.

USAC always put their schedule out during PRI show (beginning of Dec) so time is running out if Keith is serious.

Keith, do you have any idea what the dates might be? If possible, I would fly back to Granma's house for this one. Best of luck to you!

Don't have a dog in this fight. I have never been to Paragon, but a couple of things in this post don't make sense. Almost everyone thinks it is a good idea. Almost everyone thinks it will be near capacity. Several people have stated that parking could be a problem. Several people responded that they should limit the support class which will help with parking. This is where I get lost. If the track is going to be near capacity to watch the USAC show, how is limiting the support classes going to help with parking? I understand that limiting classes will help with pit spaces, but it will not impact parking for the grandstand. What am I missing?

Shut up and take my money!

Rpracing1 11/5/15 12:06 AM

So is Paragon actively pursuing a USAC event or is this some type of marketing test?

I would be there for sure - would also love to see a USAC Midget race there - maybe Levi would be interested?

parking in the pits was such an issue that they extended the pits out all the way to the road. in doing this they cut a lot of spectator parking, however, this was done long after the last time usac or the outlaws were there. there isnt a ton of parking available, but the main concern for a long time is that keith was down on campers....everyone knows that a lot of people camp that follow the races. i believe if everyone wants it to happen then there needs to be clear expectations from both sides so as to not cause tension.

They would need to get someone who knows how to prep a track....was there a few years ago and left after 2 heats because track was a joke.....

we only race there once or twice a year but i will have to say for the past few years the track has been in great shape everytime we show up

Keith has done a good job the last 2 seasons on track prep! Hammer down with moisture through the heats and still patches of moisture in the feature too. Tire wear is very minimal too!

It couldn't hurt to have a talk with POWRI.

rclaridge 11/5/15 4:39 PM

The last time I camped there we had to park next to the dumpster,no awning and no grill. Its was clear he didn't welcome campers!!

when we raced there back in the 90s he never gave us a track that was even close 50 to 60 cars and lap times would fall 2 seconds if u didnt draw good there was no way that u was gonna have to run the nq race. but at least if its a usac race u will get paid the last time i ran a mod there in 08 i never got paid called kieth he blew me off and he never called back. got crashed in the b-main it was only 30 bucks but it was just the idea that they wouldnt pay me o well he prob. needed the money worse than me.:11;

If USAC's schedule is as full as it was last year, I doubt there are any Saturday nights left. Keith would you be opposed to doing an old school Wednesday night show? Also before I consider calling the USAC office, do you have a plan for parking and campers? If there is no plan, it seems a phone call would be putting the cart ahead of the horse. Good luck and I hope this works out.

Keith, I hope you are a better at dealing with sanctioning bodies than you are at answering questions. I know if you were trying to persuade me, you would have to do better than having a bunch of people call me, even though you will not give them the facts. I was hoping this would work out, but this is kind of embarrassing.

And how do you know this?

I like Paragon. The KISS race and Amatti 68 are great races. Asking IOW to contact USAC in hopes of getting a show seems to be a one of a kind.

Rpracing1 11/5/15 10:37 PM

I don't think me and a few of my buddy's leaving a voicemail on a USAC answering machine is going to get Paragon a USAC show. I think Paragon has to present a valid case and convince USAC that they can pull it off. So did USAC already turn them down with their request? Schedule is pretty full now but if you convince them I will be in attendance. Best of luck!

dirtbag 11/6/15 1:39 AM

dirtbag 11/6/15 1:46 AM

The guy asked for opinions ,reads comments and doesn't answer questions, and then expects the people who he withholds information from to make calls to pressure the other party. I think it is a very unusual way to do business. What if Mr. Ford said he wanted a race the Saturday of the Smackdown, or the final night of Sprintweek? Should USAC drop everything to accomadate him. I am just saying before I get involved, I would like to know all the facts. Last year USAC had more races than they have had since the mid 1970's, and I would guess several are already back on the schedule. I still would attend this race, and like Keith and Paragon Speedway. I just think a better way to do this would be to provide more information. I just saw where Eagle Raceway already has a USAC race on next years schedule, so maybe not every track waits until a month before the schedule comes out to try to get a date. Not sure if I call that trying.

Buster51 11/6/15 8:43 PM

The Kiss show at Paragon is as good as a USAC show. Very good racing a lot of the same teams as Usac show.

Re: Paragon Speedway Usac

I've only been to Paragon once back in 2012 for the KISS show, with a well timed rain shower that juiced the track up before the feature. Hell yeah I'd like to see a USAC Sprint Week or Midget Week show there. But what track would you drop...............Not sure the teams could handle an 'extra' day or the tracks loose a potential rain date* on the Monday & Tuesday.

I wouldn't grumble at a POWRi date either at the start or end of their Midget Week either.

*As an overseas visitor losing Kokomo this year (Both Midget Week & Sprint Week) was a real hard and repetitive kick in the balls! Thankfully I was able to attend Smackdown for my yearly Kokomo Fix.

In short I'm aware the Paragon is not everyone's cup of tea. But I enjoyed my night there and the racing I watched. If all tracks were the same it's be pretty boring right............'Oh another cookie cutter, nice one napcar.

Anyhow that's my English Two Pennies worth.

Good luck to all those in favor.
