Yea I seen the 63 and 11. Guess not on 18 he was out fairly early. The 11 wouldn't have even been in the race if it wasn't for the 4,9,27,and 35 having engine issues during the week
|
Yeah, and the 63 & 11 finished the race, I watched the 63 have to come in and refill his gear oil.i personally told the officials what cars where leaking add my driver came over the radio and told us, not that we couldn't see it but somehow anderson didn't. They refused to use the black flag, anderson wadded up a lot of good cars, the infield looked like a junkyard and i think thats anderson's fault. What should have been a good race was ruined.on a high note, anderson saved money not using their oil dry.

....stay home if you dont like it ........................

I agree! 100%...63 and especially the 11 should have been parked. Every driver I talked to said the track was oiled down just about the entire race. It's up to the officials to stop the cars that are leaking. Last night, they failed to do so.

Re: little 500
I never thought I would feel so good about a non winning finish but to be 5 laps down, and then six, make 4 pit stops, come back to 'only' one lap down (and then sustain a one lap penalty) and wind up 4th is a big deal to me. Jacob did a great job of keeping the car straight and quick on worn out tires for so long. Hard to do.
Hopefully it was a great finish for the fans. Great crowd last night. Saw LOTS of happy faces after the race. Mostly on kids. See more kids at this event than any other, which is good for all of us. Thank you WBR Racing. Thank you to all of the fans. Big congratulations to Goacher's bunch. Well done. |
Also, Jeff Bloom needed to parked for being such a squirel. He was all over the track and in the way all night.
Window was trying to get around him early in the race and Bloom was ignoring the move over flag so Windom gave him a small shot to let him know he needed to get the hell outta the way. Bloom let him go and then took a shot at trying to spin Windom out. I lost all respect that I had for Bloom last night. Maybe it's time for him to hang it up and retire! |

They were slow to catch Welpott's issue, and the push trucks are always a question mark. Windom could have blamed the trucks & a crossed-up car pushing off from his first stop, had he lost. But Little 500 is all about dealing with the typical obstacles. Was great to have a battle over the final green-flag run. |
Re: little 500
Anyone know if Ryan Litt, was transported to the hospital? He defiantly seemed to have his bell rang, along with a left hand arm pain. The ambulance left the infield shortly after the crash.
I thought it was a heck of a race. And it seems more people come every year. Weather was perfect! |

Re: little 500
11 car ran for 3 hrs leaking oil on the track? Wow !!!! That must have been one hell of a mess....How big was the oil tank on that Beast car? Must have been as big as a 55 gallon drum! Because if in its smoken it must be a leaken!!
|
The 11 car was black flagged. An official met him at their pitstall and inspected the car and deemed it not leaking and effecting the track. It had no oil residue on the car anywhere as well as no drips while the car was running. It's the little 500 rock star. Push trucks and back marker cars will always be a factor. It's the way it always has and always will. They have every right race as the high dollar guys. And from what I seen in the twitter updates a lot of those high dollar guys stepped on their d!cks last night. But what can I say. I'm a low dollar guy that sadly wasn't there.

Last time I knew the fastest 33 cars to complete the qualifications, raced. Through the years both 500's may for reasons like mechanial, weather or time had fast cars not racing. Thats why people love bump days. Would you have withdrawn a qualified car to requalify? I thought I saw a good race. |

They should move the little 5 to ORP
|
#1hewittfan, I don't know what you were looking at, but you are 100% incorrect.
The 11 was oil leaking out onto the right side header the entire race! And, the right side of his car as covered when I looked at it the pits after the race was over in the pits. I'm done commenting on this. I know what I saw and unfortunately, it affected the race outcome. No one stepped on their own dicks, except the officials of the race. |
Are you drunk on wanting it at ORP??
|
A nderson speedway puts in a great effort in the week leading up to the race, I just feel like they need to put in a little more during the race itself. My opinion is Anderson ruined this years little 500 but that's my opinion. As far as moving it,I would disagree. The little 500 belongs on the high banks but man that would be a cool show. 500 laps at orp with the non wing cars... Night before the 400 in july wouldn't be bad Ti
|
the 33 had a steel block 23deg headed 360. The motor he runs in Florida. Pretty STONG run for not being a 410

Re: little 500
OMG push trucks, OMG leaking cars, OMG a car going a lap down takes out the leaders, OMG clean up crew is so slow. After 26 years people still complain about the same things. No matter what the track has changed over the years, people still complain. The number 1 thing I have learned over 26 years, This race does not care how much money you have or how many races you have won. It takes Luck, Skill, and a team that can over come anything.
I am really sick and tied of hearing about push truck this and push truck that. Next year go to Walmart and buy yourself a $20 pair of binoculars. Look at what is actually going on. You will find out that most of the time there is someone still working on the car when the truck pulls up. 2ND use your fricken head. When 8 cars come in to the same pit lane, there is only 1 truck setting in the middle. If you do not have a prime pit stall, your team better choose wisely when they are going to pit. Team strategy screws far more people than the push trucks do. I love it when 2 cars are pitted right together and the front car finishes first. Everyone is so busy jumping around they forget to push the car forward so the truck can get to it. I miss Chet Fillips (I can never remember haw to spell his last name) he created solutions. Car fuel to slow, he built the dank to have a duel fueling system. He did not like the push trucks, he built the car so that his team could push start it. He did not have a young top knotch crew he skipped the first pit stop. I was always wondering what would he do next. |
You must be blind. It is all pro headed. But it's definitely 23 deg and def not aluminum block. And definately 360 CID. Same motor he ran at 5 flags race last month against the 410s winged race
QUOTE=team3521;413907]That's total BS! It was an all pro headed 410. And it was aluminum. I looked at it as it was sitting on the front straight away during interviews. Not taking anything away from Dave, but he had a very good piece in that car. I really wish he would have won it.[/QUOTE] |
Re: little 500
Talked to a friend at Haubstadt who had attended the Little 500, and he said it was a great race. He is one who definitely knows racing well, so I'll take his word for it.

Been to several Little 500's now, and everyone has had similar issues. To me it's part of what this event is. That to me was what made Eric Gordon and Jack French so dominant for so long, they knew how to make the most of the hand they were given. The only bad thing I see is I have to wait a whole year for another.

The push trucks absolutely done a horrible job they didn't pay attention plus they were in the way! And to the person for saying the thing about pierce "must be nice being sponsor" that had nothing to do with him getting a push truck it's easy to get a push truck when the race is under green!!!!

It sounds like no one should complain about the circus its been that way for years it'll stay that way Anderson dont care obviously the fans don't care (from what I'm reading) so why should the teams bringing 30-60k race cars give a crap I mean who cares if the track wont get the sprayers off the track and put down a little oil dry just stuff 15 cars in the fence and move on I know all team's own 30 cars right

IMHO the race has outgrown the track( built for midgets)the shakey stands and the officiating. Take it to IRP night before at IRP!!
|
PS the Silver Crown race IRP was boooorring
|
How was it caused then Kirk cuz I was right there in the infield and my driver said that oil caused it and so did another driver involved!!! I just think overall Anderson should have done something from the start! But Rick Dawson is a idiot and doesn't care for anyone or anything except your money I was there and it was a circus between the oil and not dry put down and the push trucks screwing everything up
|
It wouldn't be the little 500 if it was at ORP!! It needs to stay at Anderson it's tradition
|
I agree with rockstar5
|
The 3 oiled down the race track on the restart, which is why he slid backwards into the turn-one wall and everyone else piled in. It was bad luck for all of them, but nothing that could have been prevented by the track. Just like the Tyler/Armstrong/Santos stack-up.
