Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
Thats one of the differences I have oppossed to alot others, yep he's right on the edge. Personally I believe It would be ok if he goes over and makes room for someone else. Us saying a prayer and moving on is just what he hopes will happen, this way come spring he'll be duping more folks into believing he's a great racer, and life can go on. Its one thing to be on dope, quit and turn it around. Its another thing when your lifestyle is trash and you are still likely get more chances than any one person deserves.

Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
I personally hope he sobers up. Gets 12 more deals, comes back. Kicks everyone's a$$ again just to shut everyone up.
Everyone knows he's capable of doing it. Then what are ya all gonna say. :23: He's a gasser. Absolutely doing nothing to hurt anyone but himself. None of anyone's business. |

Man you got to love how so many people stick up for this guy. Shows what America is really about, we cherish our dirtbags and award them. It's sad but true, the guys like myself that work there ass off and spent every dollar they can make to do this, usually get overlooked by pieces of **** like him. It wouldn't suprise me in the least bit if he didn't have a ride come April. Somebody will throw him a bone, welcome to America. Here's a scary thought, how many times do you think he was high or on something while actually Racing?

Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
Ohio Sprint Speed Week 2010 at Hilltop Speedway. TW had a good run in the 7 Peterbuilt ride but came up short as Rob Chaney nipped David Gravel on the last lap as the latter ran out of fuel. Post race I went into the pits and ran into him.
"Hey, congrats Tyler! Good to see you are back in the game. You've overcome a lot." "Live and learn," was his response. At the time, I thought that was very good and appropriate. It still is now in 2013. Live and learn in a federal pen. I'm sorry. Punk - Bottom line. Let me repeat myself.... Punk - Bottom line. 32... 33 years old? That makes it even worse. He's not even a kid. He's an old punk. |
Why do so many posters have to turn the topic towards themselves? Jealous much?...

Posted via Mobile Device[ When Shane Hmeil got sober, one of the first things he did was to apologize to "all the people I've hurt". The same thing goes for everyone I've met that has overcome a drug addiction...including myself! Nobody lives in a vacuum. Like it or not the things we say and do, good or bad, affect other people. Is it my concern? Yeah I'm concerned about my fellow man. |
Thats all speculation whether there were A+ families in his path. Fact is, he hurt noone. Period.

Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
I have watched countless drivers throw away great opportunities because of drugs and alcohol while guys like myself and so many others sit on the sidelines and never catch the breaks those guys have. I know a lot of drivers that would give their left n*t to find a ride or catch the break all drivers need. That being said a lot of the guys caught have HUGE amounts of talent but also had HUGE amounts of money backing them. At the end of the day racing is about the all mighty dollar. Not talent. If Tyler cleans up his act...again...he will be right back in a car because of money.

I've known Tyler a long time, since his first time here in the late 90's driving pavement at Winchester. I've watched his ups and downs on more than 1 occasion , in fact a few.
I always liked him when he was younger, because he was a Gasser . I was at Duquoin the night he flatfooted it all the way around that mile, and I'll never forget it. I also remember the 4 Crown in 2006 confronting him on his drug use. I asked him if he was clean, and told him the truck deal was his last best chance. He said he was, he lied. As time has gone by I've watched his sheer stupidity, to be polite, in destroying himself and his God given talents. I've watched as it's affected his friends and team mates,(KKR comes to mind), and the large black eye he's given the sport. You feel bad the first time it happens, but to do it continually, you realize he's a fool. No apologies, no remorse, just a total fool. I have no sympathy for a junkie in the gutter, and none for this one.He is what he is. |
Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
After reading this thread, I have a couple of thoughts.
I did not know that there were so many people on IOW living in glass houses. People on this board speak like they do not have a family member/friend/schoolmate that has never been to jail, never been on drugs, or never been called an alcoholic. Tyler is an extreme example of someone having a bad time, but if we look in our inner circles we all probably can find someone we know that has a similiar type issue. People bash Danica all of the time because many people think that she is all marketing and no talent. Yet, many of those same people are now bashing Tyler, who is the other end of the extreme. No (bad) marketing but a lot of talent. Are we going to reward talent or not? Are we going to hate on the marketing or is it no big deal. Finally, many people on this board have accepted Shane Hmeil as one of our own. Shane's story is very similiar to Tyler's. The number of drivers kicked out of NASCAR for drug use is a very small club. |
I don't agree with what he has done but it is what it is... Who am I to judge! Hope he fixes his problems and becomes the man we all know he can be! One thing I agree with is he definitely endangered a lot of lives on that chase.

You can play the coulda woulda shoulda game alllllllll day long. He didn't hurt anyone and he screwed up royally.. He certainly had the car to do it! And would people stop with the the "id give my left n*t for the rides and chances he's got" sheeesh. Cry a river

I'm not sure what is more pathetic to watch. Tyler Walker's life unfolding or some people's response to it in this thread. Obviously, some members on IOW are living their lives PERFECTLY with zero regrets, shortcomings or past/future mistakes.
Pathetic on both fronts. |
Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
I may have missed this, but no one has addressed the elephant in the room. Would you want a drug addicted fool racing beside you, your child, your father, husband or anyone? I know I would not,

Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
Very sad to hear about Mr. Walker's drug problems. Very glad he didn't hurt any innocent travelers while running from the authorities at 140mph. I hope he can get cured before something worse happens. Hopefully those he's hurt and let down will someday forgive him. Everyday I look into the mirror and the guy looking back at me tells me I'm not perfect. He's right but I still try to prove he's wrong. Anyway, I decided to post this as some of the people on here have mentioned they were addicts or know people presently who are. There's a company in BC, Canada, www.sotainstruments.com that builds nifty devices that when used properly can potentially improve people's lives. One of their electronic devices is called the "Bio Tuner". The history of this device is amazing. It was invented by a man named Mr. Bob Beck and it used to be called the "Brain Tuner". Mr. Beck was a physicist and an electrical engineer. His "Brain Tuner" could, over time, eliminate a person's addictions. Even tobacco addiction, which apparently is 4 times stronger than a heroin addiction. Mr. Beck's "Brain Tuner" was not well received by the medical establishment as his device would eliminate the necessity of Rehab Centers. So, it never went mainstream. I urge anyone interested in eliminating an addiction from their lives or their loved ones to do a little research on Mr. Bob Beck, his inventions and his Protocol for health. Just jump on the interweb and punch in: Bob Beck Protocol, or Brain Tuner, or his book, "Take Back Your Life". There's plenty of info on the web about Mr. Beck's contributions to mankind and several videos on YOUTUBE. His technology is still available, addictions can be reversed for good. Mr. Beck was the inventor and patent holder of the 4 sided flash cube that was used on cameras in the 60's and 70's. I hope this info helps some people. Maybe it'll trickle down to the Walker family.:)

Knowingly he's on something at the racetrack? If that was the case of course not. But honestly, there are at least 15 squirrels at every race Id be more worried about than Tyler being on something. And those are the ones that end your night. Tyler is just not one of those guys. |
Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
I hope and pray that Tyler can beat this. But I can't help but think how many times him and other drivers are probably going around eldora at 140 under the influence of drugs. I guarantee it is happening week in and week out. I have said for years that we should be drug testing every driver local and big events. I would welcome Tyler back anytime if he defeats this as long as he and every other driver pass the drug test.

Re: Chase across 3 states ends in Utah - Tyler Wal
If you choose the life of drugs 3 things can happen
1. You can end up in prison 2. You can end up dead 3. You can get clean stay clean because if not you will revert back to 1 or 2 |
