Will you be having the Flaming hula hoop with you, while driving around on the golf cart too? that would be cool to get a up close look at it LOL

Not to keep this alive but i consider myself a real race fan, think about racing 24/7. That doesnt mean I like or appreciate all types of racing. You might love modifieds but I'm sure alot of folks dont. Like what you like but dont expect everyone to think the same. To alot of folks modifieds are slow and boring, a personal opinion. Should they be bashed ? No but that doesnt change what fans like and dont like. I dont have any problem any promotor or racer running what they want. I might have a problem when folks tell me that I'm not a real race fan based on what I can or cant stomach. Its kind of like a movie lover saying they love every movie ever made. Theres no shame in my game, I know what I like and dont, what racing I would support or not care if it went in the crapper. You have to be more politically correct talking about modifieds and wings on this site than I believe you should have to be considering that this site suppossedly caters to nonwing open wheel racing.

I haven't had this much fun since Jerry Springer was cancelled! Maury needs to take notes, try to improve his ratings.

isn`t that the reason you go to paragon ??

Hey Bill, why bring up Paragon?Since you did, yes I have been there twice this year, saw two good races.Seems that I have seen you there several times too.;)

Gas City had 4, Kokomo 3, all was ok except Kokomo ran stock car features before sprint feature and Stanbro had a piece of debri puncture a tire while leading. I think you have to have a support class that will almost guarantee a B main to keep the features later than the sprints. I like all cars, all forms of racing, just think tracks have to really inspect after stock cars abuse each other. I like the decision to add mods, think 95% of race fans, all drivers, and Spiker agree!

Re: LPS Sprintweek Thursday

One support class works well, kills the dead air between races, usually knocks down the heavy cushion built by the sprint car guys, and gives the non-fans a beer run to the motorhome. The roughest part of having a support class is that it slows down updates on here for the "fans" who sit at home and wait for updates. Truth is, if they ran only sprint cars, and if the track worked as efficiently as Kokomo does, the racing program could be done in an hour, then the next day every post complains "we spent $25. to go to the races and it only lasted an HOUR?" As Emily Latella said "it's always somethin'". Sometime, just sit back, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and BE HAPPY DAMM1T! For me, only a few hours now till we head west to Terre Haute, and we start the fun all over again, hope to see you there...smiling. bob:D

If im not mistaken the thunder car feature went green entire 15 laps at Kokomo. It couldve been anything that cause the tire to go down

TBONE 7/18/12 11:28 AM

Not that it matters but there was one caution in the stock car feature before the sprints feature...and your correct anything could damage a tire...rock, wall, other car...

This late announcement about adding a support class really ticks me off. I get more racing more for my money, this just isn't right. I demand to pay more, wait a minute...

Be careful what you wish for. The price of every Sprintweek race (And about every other USAC sprint race I have been to this year) the admission has increased by 25% more than it was last year.

I wish my wages increased that fast..............

[QUOTE=Hotshoe65s;291643]I might go just because the mods. I wasn't going to go just for the sprints. But I'd go to watch the mods. I know there are a lot of people just like me that might go now just because the mods. Good move on the tracks part.

Posted via Mobile Device

If you don't go just because of one support class then you need to get off this board cause your not a true race fan. JMO[/QUO

Thought it was Indiana Sprint Week. Between Gas City marathon of classes and others we may need to reconsider a new name i.e. Indiana Sprint Week and Support Class Extravaganza.:)

Its like going to a double feature movie at the drive-in . Watch what you like and close your eyes ,fall asleep, or go home for the one you don't like, or don't go at all . Never heard of anyone complaining about not having two great movies on at the same time. I'am taking my 12 year old grandson and he loves both classes of cars running. looking forward to ISW at LPS.

Is there a fm or am station that we can listen to the PA while attending race at LPS ?

racinc1 7/18/12 10:27 PM

I'm thinkin all you that wanted sprints only had several oppurtunities this year to put up or shut up. We all seen how that turned out.

Here is what happened, they praised the idea of sprints only, but failed to back up their praise with action. I understand it was well over 100 degrees a few weeks and that people don't have the money to go three or four nights a week, but based on the reception the Thursday idea received at first you would think more than 50-100 people would show each week.
After a couple weeks of no fans and under 15 cars he had to bring in a support class to try and continue with Thursdays. (please note that I supported both the Thursday nights with the super stocks as support classes. I wanted to see the deal succeed.) Unfortunately it still wasn't enough to make it financially feasible.

I just don't see what the big hype is about no support classes. I'm a huge late model fan and have went to the dream the last two years, but I wish they'd run a support class that weekend. I don't care if it is hornets, stocks, or mods. Just give me something to watch durring the downtime. And they normally get 100 late models, but I'd say run one support class with them just to add variety. Sprint week shows only get 30-50 cars. Thats a lot less racing for your $$$.
