Its a fine edge they haven't found yet and I think the clay might have something to do with it. I don't know. |

I have never had a problem with Larry Boos. When you do something Larry does not agree with, he will let you know. Then it just rolls off his back and it is finished.
I know why "Superduke" does not like Larry. All I will say is that Larry sruck up for one of the people on his tam when they were disrepected by "Superduke". Like I said, I have never had a problem with Larry. I am one of the adult employees for Eldora. You can find me sitting next to Larry in the tower suring every race. |

I don't know what all the fuss is about, I thought the show and track were fine. I ran Eldora weekly for 5 years and it was always dusty sometimes more than others but it was always there. I can only remember a few times the track NOT getting slick come feature time, I remember it like it was yesterday entering turn 3 you could see the shine from the slick grove reflecting the lights and when your tires got in it you'd better be ready. I loved it and still do. As for Larry he was always one of the coolest people to talk with when we arrived at the track, nice, friendly and always seemed to be happy doing what he was doing.

Re: Eldora Crowd
I should probably let this thread just slide off the page, rather than give SuperDuke another chance to throw venomous insults on here, or give the satisfaction anyone even cares what is typed from that keyboard – but I will at least step in and defend someone who is probably second only to Earl Baltes in terms of the amount of hard work and dedication put into Eldora Speedway over the years.
I’ve never in my life met a man so passionate about his work than Larry Boos. You’ll find him at the track working before the sun comes up and still there working after it goes down. To suggest he is lazy simply makes you look foolish. He also has nothing to do with track preparation, so that argument is null and void. Weekly advertising takes place on several radio stations, numerous print media outlets, and occasionally on local and cable television (dependent upon type of event). That is on top of the normal online advertising and press release campaign. Obviously it won’t reach everyone in the country – but the advertising budget is utilized in a manner which the track feels will reach the largest portion of the target audience. To suggest he doesn’t do any advertising is again, a foolish and false statement. I’ve seen billing statements which say otherwise. The argument that the track employees don’t like Larry has no leg to stand on. Look at the employee retention rate from year to year. You see the same faces race after race and year after year. The one employee you mentioned left the Speedway after purchasing her own restaurant and bar – but remain a good friend with Larry to this day. Sorry to burst your bubble Duke, but I’m just another employee (adult employee, actually - since that is what you requested) who will back Larry any day of the week. There’s no such rule that says you have to like everyone you meet, but if you can’t at least respect a man like Larry; respect his intensity and passion for auto racing; respect his dedication towards Eldora – then there’s something wrong with you. If your arguments had any merit it might be a different story, but it’s just the same junk, post after post. Try posting something positive or constructive - just once. Who knows, you may enjoy it. You know, these message boards have the ability to be such great tools if used properly and not utilized simply to bash, bash, bash. It’s unfortunate it seems to be human nature to do the latter though, and that’s a shame. Apologies for such a long post, and the negative tone this even ended up taking. I’ve probably said enough now, so I’ll bow out at this point and wish everyone a good (and dry) rest of the season… Jonathan Bateman |

Re: Eldora Crowd
It does seem as if USAC is treated like a step-child when it comes to being promoted at the big E. The 4 crowns have been diminished to a one day USAC show. USAC has been there since the begining pretty much. I know it is a bussiness but TS should try to run a 2 day USAC show with a good purse lose money or not. If it were promoted he would probably make a few bucks. You know, sell a few more of those Eldora dogs to break even.:D
