The A.S.C.T. was contacted by Rob Nimee and asked to sanction a race at Lasalle on Sept 11th. Mr Nimee stated to us that he was leasing the facility for this date, and wanted to book our show to headline the nights event. For this reason we set everything in motion, including letting several individuals know of the scheduled event. We never confirmed this with the Izzo family, but felt no reason to since Mr Nimee was the event promoter at that point.

I remember SPRINT PROMOTER from last winter talking about weekly sprint races at La Salle.

Simply put, we had some yes's and had some details to handle. With such short notice and word getting out before things were 1OO% ready, its was decided to try and reschedule another date. Please dont attack Mr. Gurley or LaSalle Speedway, we all tried to put this together quickly and we simply didnt have time on our side to do it right for the Special Day of 9-11, the fans and drivers. We'll stay in touch as we move towards a date that we can ALL make work. Thanks for everyones concern . ROB NIMEE

I wish someone was following these individuals around with a camera for a reality show, they could call it the American Sprint Car Drama.Paris Hilton and Danny Boniadouchy could be pit reporters.

I think a lesson well learned for everyone involved is that until you have all your ducks in a row - who is promoting the event, that the track is in full agreement, who is paying the purse and how, tire rule, format of the event, etc. - that nothing should be said. JMO.
