Re: lburg sprint week updates?
This was on the Indiana Sprint Week entry blank
QUALIFYING RACES When the total number of cars qualified is 37 or more, a Qualifying Race may be held for cars qualifying 33 and higher, starting straight up by qualification order. Cars finishing 1 through 4 will start behind qualified cars in the heats. Added Heat Race starters from the “Qualifying Race” are eligible for the Semi Feature and will line up according to the official qualification time. When the total number of qualified cars is 48 or more a second qualifying race will be held. Cars qualifying in odd numbers starting with 33 will comprise qualifying race #1. Cars qualifying in even numbers starting with 34 will comprise qualifying race #2. Starting position will be based on qualifying starting straight up. Qualifying race winners and 2nd place finishers will start 9th in heat races, finishers 3rd and 4th will start 10th. These cars will also be eligible for the semi feature and will start according to qualifying Im glad theres no qualifying race, I like the heats |
Re: lburg sprint week updates?
It never gets old hearing or seeing Dave Darland win. Good run for Hunter Schuerenberg as well.
Seems like Jerry Coons is in a slump. Would like to see him back up front more oftern |
Re: lburg sprint week updates?
Memmer is an awesom driver. You need to get a life!!!
|
Re: lburg sprint week updates?
No one said anything bad about Memmer. They just asked if he did any crank yanking lol. Would have been cool to see someone get their first USAC win tonight though.

I will never understand how USAC figures out their starting lineups. Grant was the fastest in qualifications and worked his way up to a great finish in his heat and starts mid pack in the A. Jon won his heat and started near the tail of the A. I hate to complain, and I guess everyone has an opinion about it but it looks to me like this system promotes sandbagging. Is USAC qualifications as meaningless as it looks? Anyways, it was a pretty good race considering I almost didn’t go because of the forecast.

Re: lburg sprint week updates?
The top 6 in quals are inverted in the A main-if they make it through the heat races.....Qual. is very important with USAC the heats are invert (top 24) so yes if you sand bag you will start up front in the heat race but you will then start where you qualed. in the feature..... Ex. If i qual. 24 quick, I will start in the pole of my heat but start behind the guys 1st-23rd quick in the A...the b is also lined up by qual. times... thats why East started on the pole after running last (dnf) in his heat race...... 2 laps can make or break your whole night!
