However, what an a$$hat move by Ballou, if its true. To pull of another competitors spark plug wire while he is strapped into the car because you made a mistake AFTER he passed you and you roll your car. I WAS a Ballou fan up until that moment. Totally uncalled for. I really hope that they got your flip on tape. :42::

Yes, Bland did thank us face to face while we were on the track taking pictures! Very nice guy and congrats to him!! As for Ballou....well I aslo lost more respect for him! That was just ridiculous of him to do that.
Thanks to everyone that came out!!

He should be given a strong warning, a suspension is a little much. I am sure after he cooled down he is very sorry he walked over the Blands car. I sure he is probably now only mad a himself.

Another great night of racing at TSS. The Sprint feature ended at a good time considering all the red flags. Seems like we cannot leave Haubstadt without there being controversy. I know Ballou was frustrated that he got upside down but you can't act like that especially in front of the audience. As an MSCS official was pulling Robert out of Bland's face I could see him smack at the car. After the race I herd someone say that it was the spark plug wires that he grabbed. Just too bad that he let his emotions get the best of him tonight.

quicktime3 6/6/10 2:50 AM

When does Ballou not let his emotions get the best of him? He's always doing stuff like this. The guy is a menace - I don't know of anyone who is comfortable racing with him.

My hats off to Tom Helfrich. Making sure Jeff's car was in running order after the Ballou ordeal was a class act.

As for Jeff , he got the elbows up and just wheeled . Impressive run.
DC found out the radiator he;s been using was bad. He replaced it right before the feature, no more problems, unless you add in flipping race cars.

Here's Stanbrough missing Ballou.

But how many times do we allow him to do things like this? Granted, I've not seen him get THIS upset before to actually deliberately sabotage someone else's car, but what's next? Seriously, someone needs to put this kid in his place and send him a very strong message that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. :42::

Excellent show as usual at TSS. Congrats to Bland on his victory. Stanbrough was on his azz for a while. How bout that Puterbaugh on his first visit to TSS. He looked good all night long. Good car count in these times. Track was fast all night long. Thanks again to the Cunningham family.

Great Scott 6/6/10 10:54 AM

Great job Jeff Bland! It's time for Robert Ballou to grow up! Start acting like an adult and start setting a good example for the kids who watch you race. Somtimes things may not go your way or the way you think they should go but it's time to quit acting like a immature kid. I have lost all respect for you because you keep doing stuff over and over again.

just so we clear things up i did NOT pull off a spark plug wire i dropped my raceciever and simply grabbed it so all you fans im sorry you feel the way you do...i race for a living most of these people race as a hobby...so emotions do get involved when it comes to my pay check...but just want you fans to know from the source...
Sincerely

Great Scott 6/6/10 10:59 AM

Next time Robert just walk back to your pit so there is no possibility of being accused of pulling off a plug wire. You need to figure out how to get ahold of your emotions and control them.

Re: MSCS/KISS at Tri-State Speedway tonight!!

Robert, if its true you dropped your raceceiver then why did the TSS official get under Bland's car while they were push starting the cars and Bland was pointing at his motor?

It just looks really suspicious from the stands when you see something like that happen. There really is no need to go over and talk to a driver right after an accident. Just think about what you are doing next time in front of all the kids you entertain every night when you strap into the car.

No harm , no foul. Emotions are a big part of this business. People who say its not have no clue. Enjoy seeing you run the cushion wide open at TSS. Better luck next time.

Looks like Bland drove up from the bottom of the track at the exit of turn four and intentionally blocked Ballou at the entrance of turn one. Ballou didn't act out of hand, he simply let Bland know how he felt. Bland tried pulling the same move a couple weeks ago at Putnamville and took out Russ Harper, who had moved up to 6th place from last, in the process. There has been a lot of dirty racing around here this year. Sometimes it's hard to act like any adult, when you aren't being raced like an adult.

You must have stayed at Holiday Inn last night.:10:

hoosier 6/6/10 3:00 PM

jeffery didn't try to take out ballou. They never touched wheels. It was just good hard racing. But what ballou did to the spark plug wire was un-called for. If ballou had a problem with jeffery he should have taken it up with him in the pits.

Seriously? There was still a lane out there and no contact, yet you're blaming it on Bland? I'd say your past run-in with Bland may be clouding your judgment.

For me, it's not just the hypocrisy from Ballou. It's things like his blaring on the horn at Kokomo because the gate was locked, as it always is, after he flipped twice in one night and wanted to leave. It's time to grow up and show some self-control...

I notice you pick your battles quite well. You made yourself look like an idiot. If you can't handle getting raced hard then you might want to consider doing something else for a living. Jeff raced you hard and fair last night. He gained a bunch of fans and you lost a bunch. I hate to see confrontation but you are going to cross the wrong person one of these days. Time to grow up

Wow, let me get this straight. Someone "Claims" they saw Robert pull off Jeff's spark plug wire and suddenly it's the gospel. You'd think if that many people saw him do it someone would have said something at the time. If any of you knew Robert as well as you think you do and are judging him by what you heard, you would know he wouldn't just pull off a wire if he was mad, he'd pull the whole engine off. Leads me to believe he went over to give Jeff a piece of his mind (which by the way happens every week by lots of drivers hello is anybody home) dropped something and bent down to pick it up. I didn't hear Jeff say he pulled it off. Why does everything always have to be a drama? Jeff & Robert are both great kids, great racers and great competitors who are passionate about what they do. If Robert loses any fans based on the heresay of one person, I wouldn't be concerned, they weren't much of a fan anyway. I don't think Robert needs to resort to pulling plug wires at this point in his career. I know it is unheard of for a driver to voice his dismay over a racing deal, but come on, this is the guy that makes the price of admission worth the money. Some of these fans should take their own advice and grow up. Congrats to Jeff on his win couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

I don't know whether he did or didn't, not refering to that. Nobody likes a hot head, especially when it is uncalled for. :)

hmmmm sorry to tell you this jbh607 but jeff did say this his words in victory lane was i think its not very good sportsmanship to come over and pull someone else's sparkplug SO if you werent there dont say *****

by the way im not taking sides . im just saying that jeff did mention it

My, my bmemmer for someone who doesn't like hot heads, I think you should look in the mirror. Takes one to call one I guess. And no, I wasn't there but I do know how to read and the point WAS the plug wire, not a racer showing emotion or I guess acting like you.

Re: MSCS/KISS at Tri-State Speedway tonight!!

ya im really acting out of line i was just telling you what was said by jeff bland him self

here ya go a statement off of kiss webpage so im not blowing off steam just facts!

While the track workers cleared his machine, Ballou walked to the front stretch, leaned in to speak with Bland, and then unhooked one of the spark plug wires. Track officials quickly directed Ballou from the track and replaced the plug wire. Ballou was disqualified for his actions.

Re: MSCS/KISS at Tri-State Speedway tonight!!

Hmmmm, So I guess you got caught up in the heat of the moment and reacted, unfortunately Robert did too, See how easy it is? Fortunately, your lively hood wasn't at stake like a lot of these racers, so yes they do react badly, but they don't have the luxury of blowing it off by saying they were out of line, they have to endure, criticism, accusations and a lot of name calling. However, the irony is all of this is followed by them telling him to "grow up". Just sayn"

bballr4567 6/6/10 7:26 PM

Re: MSCS/KISS at Tri-State Speedway tonight!!

Jeff did say in the interview after he won, that Robert had stopped to talk to him and then after he was getting ready to leave he reached down and pulled a plug wire. From what I could see on the backstretch it certainly looked like it by the way that Jeff was acting when he was trying to get the attention of the TSS official and then that official sat there for maybe 2-3 minutes doing something in the motor area.

JBH, you said you werent there but many of us were and saw the whole incident happen. It just looks bad for Robert no matter what he says. You just cant put yourself in that position.

There sure seems to be lots of haters on here. Right or wrong Ballou speaks his mind and vents his frustrations, and that's what makes him one of my favorite drivers. I wasn't there and didn't see what happened. I know that in the past Bland has never shyed away from making a questionable move, someone finally called him out on it. The dirty driving has gotten out of hand, Once again not saying this is one of those instances; But the only way it's going to stop is by putting a stop to it. There are a bunch of people who drive way over there heads but get away with it because people are afraid of the consequences. Robert is one guy who stands up when he has an issue and I commend that!

If Robert did that then he is in good company because the"SPRINT CAR HALL OF FAME"is filled with drivers that did the same thing.(some on more occasions then one):18::18:

Next week will be filled with some new drama;)
