Made my first trip in at least 10 years to the track tonight. My wife and I live in Ohio and are in Indy for a couple of nights. I bought two pit passes at 630 and took one look at the track and knew we were in trouble. Swamp buggies comes to mind. Never seen a track that wet an hour after the advertised start time without a downpour occuring. At 715 I went to the office and asked for a refund and told the rude lady that I was looking at a racetrack that would be at least 9pm before it was ready.

Still working on the track. The action of the night has been the skidloader backing into the water truck.

Continuing the last post. After I asked for a refund, it was refused and the rude lady proceeded to blame usac for the wet track, because usac told them to water it. I am not making this up. So, I'm out $70, 400 miles roundtrip and a night of my life. Will never go back here, too many other choices.

the other night they started hot laps at 9:45....of course, there were "only" 23 cars, three heats and no B. They wuz goin' good until yellow fever broke out in the feature.

So they may get this baby in yet.

Susan Dave finished 5th in his heat. There are 29 cars so I would think they would not start all of them. They are going off of passing points in the heats. I am guessing that will determine who makes the feature and where they start.

wow i thought that was a black and white photo at first untill i saw the red frame of the second car barely peaking though all the mud. So glad I didnt waste my time and money going out there tonight.

I don't care that "usac told them to water the track"...if that photo is real, that is INSANE. It is indefensible. It demonstrates a lack of understanding regarding track preparation that is beyond justification. That is what a track is supposed to look like 24 hours before an event. Goodbye Action Track. It wasn't your fault. Man undid what better men established. Sounds like everything else in our "modern era".

Well believe it or not, I was there somewhere around the early 90's and the track had so many ruts in it from being too wet they had to cancel the event.

I was just complaining to my wife that the twitter feed wasn't getting updated enough, then realized how spoiled I am. I was only a few short years ago that I wouldn't know anything about this race until NSSN came on Friday ... or Saturday ... or Monday. :-)

The front car is Shane Hmiel. You can tell by the wing mounts, the hood, and the wing car nose piece.

The front car looks like Shane Hmiel judging from the nose piece. He is the only one I have seen running that this year. The back car is not Jerry Coons unless the Hoffmans have abandoned the F5 and switched to an older DRC. Thinking it is Ricky Williams judging by the neon orange.
