Pine i may not agree with his (Sammy) actions outside the racecar but you have to admit he is one of the best IN the car.

As far as the 2004 USAC show Ricky got robbed because he showed those USAC guys the kid was good and not afraid. He eventually was able to prove it with the help of TSR.:respect:

Well, there was a ton of confusion on the line-up of the restart. I watched as Sammy Swindell "lost" a couple of spots in the line up after the caution. I did not have my eye on Ricky when he crossed the line. So, I can't say if he was in the wrong or not.

I did see DD plow him on the restart. Using your logic, Ricky deserved what he got because he was not lined up properly at the drop of the :greenflag:? If that is the case, who is responsible for lining up the cars? I believe the USAC officials must first deem the line-up as "good" before the drop of the :greenflag:. Would you agree or am I "out of line" too?

Should I be looking over my shoulder for DD?

Only using him for comparison, nothing more. I agree he is one of the best to ever strap in a USAC division car.

Hawker, with all due respect. What does that have to do with Kevin being OUT OF CONTROL in a SPRINT CAR?????????

You obviously didn't watch the video...

Take a look at it, read the caption, then get back to me..............

Now, as far as being "Out of control in a sprint car" goes; is he the only USAC driver you've catagorized as "out of control"? Or is he the only one?

Your rightI didn't watch the video....

Out of Control<<< The difference is, I'm not trying to justify anyone else's driving style with statistic's they may have put up when they drove BOMBERS. As I said in another thread a month ago. You Swindell fans defended Sammy for Thirty years, now you can reach retirement age defending his son...Outlaw fans........

One of the Swindell bashers posted a video of the "bombers" to try to prove some kind of point (I haven't figured that oune out yet) and I responded appropriately. Comparing apples to apples...

There is nothing to defend Sammy about. He is one of the greatest drivers to ever buckle in, winged or nonwing. Sorry, but that is a fact. Matter of fact, I got to see him go to Knoxville in one of Jeff Walker's rides a few years ago, after being out of a nonwing sprint for longer than most of the current drivers there had even been alive and he TOOK THEM TO SCHOOL. Sorry about their luck... I was also there for all four of his Chili Bowl victories, you should have seen that, only getting in a midget once a year and once again, taking the best of the best nonwing drivers to school. Nothing to defend there, that is pure talent bud.

Kevin was "cut from the same cloth". Has he been out of control at times? Sure, but I have seen some veterans pull some pretty stupid moves too, some more than just a couple of times. So quit hating the kid because he has driven a winged car.

BTW, I've been watching sprints for over 40 years. If I were to keep a tally, nonwings would outnumber wings by 2 to 1.

I even have a couple photos of Owen Snyder discussing such an event with Kevin after one of Kevin's brain farts, at Macon. Can't you just let it go?

There's not a driver out there that has not made multiple bone headed moves in throughout their career. That being said, I am a fan of his father (LONG before he ever put a wing on) and now the kid too. That's the way it is. If he screwed up, he screwed up. That's no reason for 3 pages of driver bashing. So no, I won't "just let it go" as long as the bashing and name calling continues. Pretty childish in my book.

In the over 40 years I've been going to races, I have NEVER bashed a driver. I won't fall into the armchair driver catagory...

You last sentence speaks volumes and THAT is what I respect. I am not defending his actions, I just disagree with the public lynching he is recieving, it just reeks of no class. I compare it to the drunks in the stands shouting obscenities and flying the bird at drivers on the track. I would hope to think that true fans are above that.

Thanks Eagle14 for giving me some runnig room. If we are nearing the end of this thread I would like to say that if uncle Jeff was team manager for his car... this whole thing would not be a issue.

Absolutely the scoring was amuck from the word go that night. I can remember thinking to myself that night I was glad the Focus portion of the event (which was why I was in attendance) went without any glitches :thumb: because the Sprint portion or at least the scoring end of it was very very poor to say the least.

Poor Bill Carey had em lined up a mile long wanting a piece of his a## that night.

I was there too and it was not much of a race. Sammy started from the front and won a hard, slick, slow, little passing piss poor sprint car show. I don't think his students learned a whole lot.

Here is my take, I actually was a casual fan of Kevin's his aggressive style was exciting to me, I heard about how he was on top of another car and stayed in the gas and all that. I wasn't there I didn't see so I can't be sure what happened, BUT I was at what I think was the MSCS race (Ballou Won) at L'burg.

Sitting there happily in my Mopar shirt watching the Kahne cars running decent and I was content.

Until the end of the race when they interview this little "punk" and he badmouths, what was a good run by Ballou on the front stretch in front of all in attendance and proceeds to make himself and the team look like a bunch of cry baby losers. Which was just flat out embarrassing, and if he wasn't he should have been. I threw my new mopar shirt in the trash on the way out and just couldn't believe what I saw and heard. PATHETIC!

I can't believe anyone would stand there that night and say, "Way to go!, I'm glad I'm a Kevin Swindell fan"
