Just wondering.I seen someone mentioned doing the tent thing at Gas City.Do they charge to do this and do you just camp among the RV's or how does that work?I only live maybe 30 or 35 miles from Gas City but it would be fun for me and the wife to just hang out and camp after the races and then go to Kokomo.Any info on this would be greatly appreciated as I obviously dont know how this process works. Thanks in advance.

That was me that said that. I personally have never camped there but I have seen several in tents at Bloomington I was just going to set up over by the rv's myself. I don't know why they would have an issue with it. A tent and a car take up less room then an RV. As long as work doesn't throw me a curve ball the wife and I are still planning on it. I live about an hour south of gas city and kokomo, so we figured it would be easier to just camp then drive back home that night then turn around and drive right back up there to kokomo on sunday. The wife hates all the driving.

micro94,

It is free camping at Gas City no matter if it is a camper or a tent. Just be careful who you pitch your tent next to. Don't get too close to a camper with a generator running or you could be in trouble.:(

By the looks of the poll Kamp speedway may have a small crowd for Sprintweek I think that in July other then the sprintweek show all racing nights were 2 for the price of one they must be having trouble getting people in the stands for racing sure hope they prep the track well.:15:

This is really great news on Caleb and the Walker car. I was just talking to Caleb during Midget Week and he sure misses running the sprint cars this year. Kevin Besecker and crew have done a great job bringing this young man along. He'll do a good job for the Walker's. :6:

Well so much for going to any of this years sprint week races. Work has called and they need me back about 6 days earlier then planned, which really sucks. :13: I really hate my job sometimes. Well maybe next year.

I really wish since USAC is giving North Vernon a shot with the midgets that they would just make this a doubleheader and include it in sprintweek.

I will be at L-burg and Haubstadt + possibly THAT. We went to the majority of sprint week last year as well as the Sheldon memorial at b'ton a few weeks ago. I've come to the conclusion that there are a lot of potentially great sprint tracks in Indiana if they would only chop up the slick before the feature. I know the Helfrich family has spoiled those of us from the south western region.

Anyone here remember this eventful night? I expect that it will be this good at Tri-State Speedway this year as well.

Yes, Jack Epperson, who raced in the bay area is Keith's grandfather.

I definitely remember that night. The crowd went nuts because Clayton won and he owns that joint. The battle between him and Ricky was great, but the highlight of that race, IMO, was the rumble between Chad Boespflug and Jon Stanbrough. Chad Drove the wheels off of it, keeping the National Driver of the Year off of the podium, on this night. And he was a tough out for the other top 2 finishers, as well.

...heard yesterday that Dickie Gaines is definitely in the Stevens/Moletrapper.com #2 for L-Burg's Sprintweek opener. Hopefully, he has a GREAT run and can talk 'ol Cecil into a few more.

(BTW, Gaines is also scheduled to run the #2 in the $10,000 to win "Dick Gaines Memorial" USAC show @ L-Burg in August.)
