We found seats in "A" where the roof shaded us from the sun but so did everyone else. I'm around average heighth (6'1") and with fans sitting directly in front was pretty cramped. Then some 300lb guy came in to the row above us and stuck his rather ample gas passing butt :14: into the back of my wife's head while he fumbled with his seat cushion for 15 or so minutes. Obviously few people want to sit in the bottom half of the stand because of the dirt spray. We finally gave up and moved over to the turn 1&2 stands where there was plenty of room. We probably should have gone on further to the stands coming out of 2 for a better view of the turns but it turned out OK and much more comfortable.

Never in my life did i think anyone would ever complain about the seating at Lawrenceburg Speedway. I will leave it at that.
BTW, I bet the 300# man was Fishburger, The gravy at Bob Evans always makes him gasy.:5:

I have a legitimate bi*ch about the seating. The one spring in the BIG GREEN H2O truck is poking me in the leg. And when you jump in it and plop down real hard the gas (TOOT) fumes from the previous excursion come back for a second go round!!!! :15::15::31:

I wouldn't complain, that spring could be poking you somewhere else.

Aw, don't be sensitive. Race fans can always find something to complain about. The seating is fine. I really appreciate the seatbacks (very few places have them) andnot having to sit on a warped 2X10 board. If you recall, the temp was around 90 that day and it seemed that everyone tried to huddle in the shade of the roof and it got a bit tight. We moved to the open stands back into the sun, but there was a nice breeze from behind us and we could stretch out so it was great. L'burg is an outstanding facility. We found a shady spot to park the mh, hooked into (free) water and electric (ok until we had to run the a/c) and enjoyed our stay. Oh, I think the predominant scent was not gravy, but fishy.

Dave (the other one), did you achieve this level of enthusiasm for wings before or after you went on the payroll? :16Just wondering as I know you have much different thoughts now on the ease and simplicity of track prep than you had previously. :5:

Dave (the Boss), this a.m. you enjoyed the service of my favorite waitress and good friend, the very pretty Kris. Now, you can understand that I don't go to Bob Evans every day just for the gravy. :8:

Side note to Al Pierce: I am not a 300 pounder as Bozo has posted, I am not as perverted as Chuck Nungester frequently suggests, and I am not as old (ancient) as my pal Danny Burton would have folks believe. Soooooo, it wasn't this "fish" that contributed to your "sardine" like feelings on 5/23. Let us know when you're coming again and we'll insure that you'll have ample room in Section "A".

Here's hoping for (and expecting) great weather, a humongous crowd, and great racing (O.K., I know that's unlikely ;) ) at The 'Burg both nights. See you all there. And now.......I must be off. :22:

Dave, I'm coming tomorrow night, but can't get there till 6:30, how bout an extended drivers meeting to start hotlaps about 6:30. lol

With that in mind, any clue of the format theywill use for qualifying? As in I'm sure they'll hotlap the WoO first, but will they hotlap most everything else, then go ahead and qualify? I hope so, cause I'm bringing my boss and he's never been to a sprint car race before, and I've told him they'll run wide open and he thinks I'm full of you know what and I hope he gets a chance to actually haer a car on the track and each time.

Can't wait!

Sure thing!! Just let me know when you get there so we can start the show. Just kidding.
Hot laps start at 6pm, and i believe we hot lap sprints, then qualify them, then hot lap Mini's and Mods.
See ya there.

Any chance the mini's can run last? I feel like we put on a better show after the track is basically gone.

All systems are GO for what promises to be a GREAT weekend at The 'Burg. Weather is perfect. :6: Heard the Boss Man Dave on local radio (WSCH) this morning and he advises that all the WoO stars are here. I'm not that up on the winged crowd and this "Lacoaski" guy he mentioned is a new one to me. ;) I'll be anxious to see him compete with "The King", Sammy, Schatz, et al.

Beautiful day.....not a bad seat in the house......y'all come and join this wing rookie (well, it's been a long time since I attended a wings only event) for some roundy round action.

Later. :22:

Lawrenceburg will gain alot of new fans this weekend. I said it for a long time now that this weekend is a must see event and the weather looks fantastic for it.:32: See you Thursday afternoon!

Track prep will essentially be out of the hands of Mr. Rudisell and his staff. The Outlaws dictate exactly what kind of track they expect, and if they don't like it, they won't run. If you're the type who can't stand dust, be forwarned. Just keep this in mind when you're looking for someone to ***** at cuz there's 3 lbs. of dirt on and inside you.

I don't know if that is true.. I was at the WoO race down in Charlotte and I barely even felt like I was at a dirt race! I probably didn't even have to take a shower when I got back to my friend's house, of course I still did. Apparently the track dictated the track prep as they didn't want "dirt in the grandstands for the Nascar race" plus many of the people there were dirt racing rookies. I think it all depends on how much weight you have over the sanctioning body.
I won't be there tonight (can't convince anyone to go with me) but will probably be there tomorrow. Have fun! :23:
