With all of the competition on Saturday nights, someone could be a leader and have Monday all to themselves. Probably won't happen in my lifetime though.:19: |

Friday-Fairgrounds Saturday-Night b4 500 SUNDAY- There is only one reason that any young man starts racing and that is the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend!! To any that have been or participated they know what I mean, to those of you that have not there should be no other choice!! Regardless of where they have raced and won, be it Daytona, Le Mans, Eldora, or Poedunkville Speedway, they dream of INDY. Some say it has lost its luster, some like to say its not what it used to be, some say that when the "Roadster Era" went away the place was never the same, then the CART/IRL split, the turbocharger, the wings, when they paved it, ect... This Sunday men will stand next to their cars or their sons, they will play 'Back Home Again in Indiana" and men old or young will have tears in their eyes and a feeling in their stomach unmatched by any other event, and not only the 'GREATEST SPECTICAL in RACING" will begin, but also a bound between generations. Little Al said "you just don't know what Indy means" , to those of us that do we live a life that others can only envy! I'll be at INDIANAPOLIS on Sunday! |

Re: Memorial Day Weekend
Public drivers meeting.. kinda boring... parade downtown.... museum tour and track tour... But better yet why are you going to Lawrenceburg and not The Night Before the 500 at IRP(orp)??
