Tim, Watch the weather, we might be able to catch Gas City or Bloomington, if Eldora calls it. Racing or no racing a good time will be had

Tim,

I would certainly hope not since Lawrenceburg has already thrown in the towel. The only other track that I am aware of that is running sprints on Saturday is Lincoln Park so that shouldn't pull any cars or fans away from Eldora. Friday night weather wise is iffy, but let's hope that they get both nights in. The weather with these early season shows hasn't been to kind so far.

Do you think Gas City or Bloomington might make it if Eldora cancels? I just thought if one track gets it all 3 of them will.

Thanks Mud Packer. We will keep our fingers crossed. We could wait until Friday 7am our time and still make it by 3pm or so but we like to leave around 2 or 3am to avoid any traffic.

Yes we are bringing the motorhome and I hope to be there around noonish Fri. Stop by.

Tim, I just looked at the weather, right now at Bloomington, Gas City and Attica (All-Stars) their calling for 60-70% chance of rain Fri. But should be OK Sat.

Pine, don't forget ARDC is at Susky Saturday! I know you hate Fisher, but this is the only time ARDC will run Susky at night this entire year. I see it as a must.

From Eldora's website:

APRIL 9 - 5:00 pm

At this time, all systems are still GO for the April 10th opening night of the Coca-Cola Spring Classic featuring USAC Sprint Cars. We are aware of the Friday forecast and, like everyone else - are constantly monitoring weather reports and radar screens. We will update this message again at 9:30 am Friday.

Chuck, every track I looked at for Friday has a 70% chance of rain. Bloomington, Gas City, Eldora, Attica (All-Stars), Lernerville and Williamsgrove.

You got to look at it on the positive side. 50 % chance it might rain and 50 % chance it won't
And 100 % chance you will be drinking your favorite beverage if it rains or not. :applaud:

I know, I ve been thinking about it. But to bring the motorhome out for basically a one day show is pretty expensive. Plus we just came out to the Brownstown "Ice Breaker" late model show. A lot of driving for one day shows. I'd love to be there though. Have fun and hopefully we'll see ya's next weekend. (get to work Dave)...

Re: Weather/Eldora

Thanks Jerry, the map looks like the rain is getting real close. 2:00 am and rain still hasn’t started 10 miles from Eldora.

Everyone please keep an eye on the Eldora website for updates and also the I69-Gas City Speedway websites for updates. I spoke to the folks at I69-Gas City late Thursday afternoon and of course they have the track sealed over so they can stand some moisture. Both places are waiting to see how much and how late it looks like the weather system will last. Both are wanting very much to get the Friday shows in. Saturday forcast looks pretty good, a little cool, as to be expected in this area this early in the season but dry,,

2:05 am,,,back to bed,,still nothing,,

I just woke up to take a look at the weather and it looks like it's raining at Eldora. 4:40am. Back to

tjtomthumb 4/10/09 7:23 AM

Re: Weather/Eldora

just woke up again and by looking at the weather map it looks like we would be getting a pretty good rain, but it's still just a light drizzle here at home 10 miles from Eldora. Don't give up yet if the track is only getting what we are here in Fort Recovery, OH.

As of now they probably could still run. Bad thing is the forcast predicts it not to stop until around midnight. Don't look good but still possible.

Watch the tracks sites for updates, as I'm 10 miles away from the track at Eldora. Could be totally different at the track.

http://www.whiotv.com/weather/index.html

Dayton TV station says rain will not end until around midnight.

And tommorrow there is a freeze warning for Darke county on Saturday night.

I hate to be a cheese weenie, but I think I am going to pull the plug on this trip.

Jerry Spencer 4/10/09 8:44 AM

Re: Weather/Eldora

We have had a steady soaking rain all night, at times it has come down pretty hard but then goes back to a steady rain/drizzle. There is supposed to be a few breaks and then more rain until late tonight according to our weather grid at work. What the heck it is April and we are in Indiana it could be worse. Temp. did drop most of the night but has held at cold for a couple hours now.
