Re: Speeddrome

The year Chassey won the Hoosier 100 I was shooting with Greg Oldham outside of turn 3 on a truck and I had a radar gun and the fastest speed I saw then was 155 mph. Most were in the 147 - 152 range.

You can usually tell when someone doesn't lift because they are more than likely in the fence. This applies to nonwing in most cases.

Duke,

Fans will have a chance to see just how fast the HOSS Series cars are at Salem on Saturday, April 25. Lets invite that Sherriff deputy back with his radar gun...Then Sunday, May 17 it is on to Winchester for HOSS. I may invite my friends with The Connersville Post of the highway patrol that day...and see if he can bring his radar.

SO...Duke..watch your speed on the way in...AND BUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELT!

Check out the HOSS schedule here.

Here is one last detail in regard to the good show that AVSS put on at the Speedrome back in 2000. Gary Fedewa won that event.

There are yellow, round, smooth precast raised concrete circles that mark the infield at the Speedrome. One thing Jack Calabrase did when directing the sprints that day was to move those markers in a bit more in the turns to have more room there. That made it easier to pass.

I am going to look at doing the same for the midgets.
