Re: Isw 2017
You'll need to get to Puttnamvile a little early for good seats on the main straight and parking but you will be able to get a seat.
Terre Haute no problem, Good seats all night. Bloomington, Parking's tight in and out but there are seats. Tri State, I don't know, Not been to a Sprintweek there Definitely hit the Indy Motor Speedway Museum |
Here's my suggestions:
Stay thurs. & Fri. Night in Bloomington. Sit as high as you can in main grandstand at Terre haute. Sit low at putnamville. 2 or 3 rows from top of main bleachers at Bloomington. Stay hydrated. It can be really hot and humid. |

Re: Isw 2017
Pit passes are only a $5 dollar difference at each track so spend the extra 5 get a pit pass each night. At T.H.A.T the grandstands are huge so lots of seats but just once go to the infield and watch them go into turn one it's awesome! At LPS the pit grandstands are huge so you can choose to sit there and roam the pits easily. Bloomington the pit grandstands are small limited seating but by all means roam the pits and you can walk back to the main grandstands if you want. Tri-state speedway is a great track front and back grandstands also small pit grandstands on front stretch and back. I have been to all these tracks and all of them are special in there own way. There are lots of things to do around all these tracks it all depends on how much driving you want to do. Enjoy yourself and have fun. :):6::32:

Re: Isw 2017
I strongly suggest making Bloomington your homestead for the week. It's roughly an hour from both Terre Haute and Putnamville. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is about an hour north. Only trouble would be Haubstadt is a little further drive on Saturday but it is an easy drive down I-69... As said before get there early! Mix and mingle with the campers, drivers, crews... It's a great time!
Terre Haute: Cheap ticket (I think $15) is infield ticket, bring your lawn chairs and set up camp going into turn 1, I promise you wont be disappointed. You can buy a grandstands pass that allows you entrance into the infield as well. Pit pass allows you entrance everywhere. The covered grandstands are a major plus if it gets hot. Putnamville: We usually sit on the hill outside of turn 4, near the bathroom and shade tree. Bring your lawn chair. Great food, and nice new bathrooms. Grade A facility! Bloomington: Again, we sit on the hill outside turn 4. View is kind of a long way off the track. And a long way from the bathrooms, Sorry I dont have more info on anywhere else to sit there. Make sure you get the ice cream! Haubstadt: Sit as high up as you can, and I suggest turn 1. Great view watching em back it in. I suggest eats at Stroll's Amish Buffet about two miles from the track on HWY 41. |
Re: Isw 2017
I've been staying in Cloverdale the past several years at the Holiday Inn Express Cloverdale.
It's about 40 mile to Terre Haute, 35 miles to Bloomington and, 10 miles to Lincoln Park Speedway. Haubstadt's is going to be a long drive. Bloomington is a good choice too, a lot more options and more places to eat than Cloverdale. Look at the west side. I've also stayed at TownePlace Suites West105 South Franklin Road, Bloomington, IN 47404. They have a Kitchens in every suite and there is a lot of shopping right in the area. It's a bit more costly, but you can save some by not eating out as much. |
If your looking for something to do on the off days Check out Nashville/brown county Indiana. Cool place.

If you're into covered bridges, Indiana has a ton of them, several in the Putnamville area. Check out https://www.coveredbridgemap.com/in/ for a map and additional info.
