Story goes that shortly after Gaines retired, Dizz hung it up as well. Gaines used to come around Dizz's shop and talk about building another car and going racing. Dizz's reply was "I'm to old and your blind". Dizz was referring to the injuries Gaines suffered in the Champaign, IL accident.

Events for Saturday, August 20th have been canceled due to the current weather situation. The "Dick Gaines Memorial" along with the Pet Food & Toy Drive as well as “47025” Night at the Races will now all take place on Saturday, September 3rd.

Today was a wash. I checked radar shortly before leaving 4 our BARC luau and seen the chanceof racing
was slim and none but we had a great time anyhow. thanks to the Rudisells forthe help with
the shelter and tables etc. all the effort to get track ready help us and still no admissions. see u the third for Gaines round 2.
