Re: non wing racing!

Count how many true bring your helmet and race car owners are in the non-wing world and how many true hiring car owners there are in the world of wing racing. The numbers are not even close to compare. There are a lot more roads of opportunity with rides once you can establish yourself with a wing. Its the unfortunate truth.

WOO and ASCS team can attract more sponsors because they travel so much and many of their races are on TV at some point giving businesses the exposure they want. Plus WOO races pay at least 5k a night to win and everyone who shows up gets a decent amount of appearance money. It's not that wing cars put on better races, it just pays better. And Nascar doesn't take many sprint guys anymore, it's more late model guys.

WoO regular shows pay $10,000 to Win and $800 to start unless they are one of the few cheaper purses of $6,000 and $500 or $600 to start.

btw, speaking of Rico's move "up" to K&n (no I don't fig that to be the case), what does the 4th teir of NA$KAR pay to win? No way they ever have any $30,000 shows is there???

I've bit my tonge for several years now. Here's the real deal. For all u that want to fix USAC but dont want to change anything (tradition) well ur a dumbass.

Why is WOO so successful? One division. If u want ur precious USAC to be successful in modern times as so many of u seem to really really want you have to kill the other divisions. Yes I said kill the financial drains of the Silver Crown, National Midget, focus midget, whatever. If u truly want USAC to be successful take everything other than the USAC sprint car out behind the barn and shoot it.

There are far too few owners spread across too many divisions. This is exactly why USAC SUCKS. They completely compete against themselves on every level. There's not one half way smart business man in the world that would continually operate a self competive business like USAC does.

USAC could easily draw large fields of quality cars with large purses but the traditional old ducks of "traditional" sprint car racing would never allow it. The old traditional lame ducks that have to have there traditional "old days" (40 years ago) would never allow it.

If you want to fix USAC kill everything but the sprint cars or keep on keeping on in the same direction.

New Egypt Speedway in New Jersey starting up non-winged sprint car class for weekly shows. Accord Speedway in New York also starting non-winged sprint car class weekly for 2015 season. What are they seeing?

I'm not sure about that. Honda and ignite didn't come on board for the sprint cars. I think USAC has a reputation problem more than anything else. They offer the best non wing purses and insurance and even things like a benevolent fund. With those benefits....local teams and top quality drivers will go to lesser paying events with the thinking that they can win those and make more than running 4th or so at a USAC show. The local teams will also run tracks like Eldora or T Haute if USAC is not sanctioning the event and they will run for less money. I think it's a lot deeper than just offering 1 option as an organization.

WoO isn't one division, they have a late model division as well. However, I do feel USAC has it's hands in to many cookie jars. The whole Ignite thing, quarter midget divisions have never made sense to me.

Quarter midgets have to make money for USAC, they get all kinds of cars for those events, with pretty pricey entry fees, and then hand out trophies as prizes. My guess is that's a good division for them as far as the financial side of things.
