Re: Jeff Gordon

Gordon's main reason for stepping out of the car is his painful spine problems. Getting tossed around in a racecar doesn't help that issue.

That is about all I have in common with Gordon - a bad spine. I had three surgeries last year and now have rods and screws in my back. That is why I can't go to the races any more because I have a lack of mobility - after going to races about 20 - 30 times a year for 55 straight years. Sadly I am done. Very upsetting for me.

Like Gordon did, I am contemplating retirement too.:13::7:

Sorry about your back, Seadog. Seems to me Jeff would retire now if his back is as bad as people on here have stated.

Sorry, it wasn't Penske that offered him a seat it was AJ Foyt that said he'd field a car for Gordon (and Tony) if they chose to run it.

I can't say the real reason he's retiring. I know its been a couple years since the back was a Major issue and it still could be or worse.

I think its getting screwed out of the third championship he would have won without the chase format. that would have tied........................PETTY

Maybe by 2016 he will have a little extra time TO THINK about pushing some l$ve at his roots. With an estimated net worth of $200 million I would think his money clip could field a couple of teams. Or in the year 2525 if man is still alive, if woman can survive. Just an observation. ...

I think Gordon would make a fine addition making cameos in the Tudor USCC series in the long enduros. That will pick up fan interest, too. It all depends on his health/body/will.

Chip signed Larson to a 10 year contract and rico will get another long term contract. Smart business marketing department. Go Larson and rico .
