Nothing like sitting in the big grandstand and watching the geese watch the cars practice while eating a Nutty Bar.."frozen ice cream dipped in choclate with nuts" or a frosty malt.
Now that's racin! We usually get there early enough to ride the tram around the fairgrounds and see whats been happening in central Illinois, maybe launch a few frogs on the midway. There is no better sound than hearing the champ cars at speed at Duquoin. Remember Chuck Gurney in the Plastic Express #30?....loud! |
