That was NEVER in the equazation...ALL except 2 teams hotlaped (83 Bell and KKR cars) they fully intended to race and some even qualified...I was not condusive to passing last night and every race was won from the pole...in fact after each start once they where out of 2 you could have thrown the checkered cause that is where they finished....

Possibly injuring yourself or destroying your car the first night out of the season on a covered over pavement track, that has been saturated with rain for 8 days is a tough decision to make. Doesn’t seem like a great idea to me, then again I come from the mentality of work smarter not harder. Sure glad I didn't get the PPV for this, but it seems like Bubba and his army are not enjoying speedweeks so far.

What do you expect from slot car racing, The REAL sprint cars unleash their ultimate badness starting on the 20th. Can't wait for the epic battles to commence on the 2014 USAC Sprint Car Campaign!!!!!

I was there and on the track surface all day and night. New clay, 8 consecutive days of rain... tough position to be in for everyone involved. The track and infield were a mess. It was soft, wet and rough with standing water in the infield and mud bogs low on both ends. I can't blame teams for not running but give kudos for those who stayed and raced. Kudos to Bubba for trying. Warm sunny day today should help dry things out a bit.

Was there both nights and YES Bubba and crew worked their tails off and the track was FAST last night with Dave Blaney just 2 tenths off track record. However for two nights the car on the polw (inside) won and after thery exited turn 2 you could have thrown the checkered cause that is where they finished....David Gravel did make some noise in the feature and pasted a few cars to finish 4th...that was it....TIPICAL wing racing!!! please hurry next 8 days I need my non wing fix!!!!!!!

Note...Sunday night the track was so heavy that 4 ft up the chain link fence it was SOLID clay all the way down the straightaway,,,,,,and TACKY...TACKY...TACKY!!! can you say....WHEELSTANDS for next week!!!!!!!!

i love dirt track racing 2/11/14 8:22 PM

It sounds like the track will be in great shape for the greatest show on dirt. Usac non wings and the fans.

It is raining down in Fl again tonight. Bubba has actually covered his entire track with Blue Tarps to save the track

Volusia got rained out tonight. I have never heard of anyone putting tarps on the track to save it. You sure have to give Bubba an A for effort. I was told by someone who knows that Bubba had wheels on the track from Midnight Saturday to about 7:00 pm Sunday. I personally feel you can forgive a lack of perfection if the effort is anything like this.
