I am one of those kids who started at 14 years old in a sprint car and I'm now 20 and still doing the same thing and love it. If anything racin kept me out of trouble I always wanted to earn respect from everyone and still do, and the weekends through school while other kids were out drinking and partying i was racing my parents didn't have to worry where I was at during the week because I was there with then working on the car.. The apple does not fall far from the tree.....you can make all the excuses you want....once you get to an adult as this hypothetical person is, you know right from wrong. Possibly Bryan Clauson has as you say "had all these opportunities come his way" because he is an unassuming, polite, respectful, talented young man.....possibly Bryan Clauson.....earned these opportunities because he was schooled and paid attention to what you have to, how you have to act, and what it takes to be successful.....in my opinion, Bryan Clauson earned his shot......he was not born on third base and raised to think he hit a triple.

Well since Bickford brought Gordon to Indiana in 1986, Id say we have a long history with many successes and failures.
Think it's got to do more with how Grounded the Kid is in the first place. I can think of far things worse than a father and son being at the track together on a saturday night trying to achieve a dream that may or may not happen. AT LEAST THEY HAVE ONE! |
