Re: Some off the press Twin Cities news
Three phone poles, cut in half. 75ft of twelve ft fence in turn one. I don't get it, spend several thou on the other stuff and not make it safer?
Not saying Im not happy what they've done, But why can't a few hundred go into keeping someone from possibly dying? |
The fence will keep my race team from competing there. It needs to be addressed and fixed, period.
I wish them the best of luck in there new venture. But until the fence is fixed, I refuse to put my driver, equipment and the spectators at risk. Race team, drivers, fans , crews etc need to speak up about safety at our local tracks. Not only at North Vernon but across the board I mean, what is it going to take to get peoples attention? No body wants to talk about it, so we sweep it under the rug. Then somebody gets hurt and people get outraged? We need to be taking preventive steps now, to keep everyone safe. Why North Vernon needs the fence fixed.

What happens when a 3000 pound bomber does this? What if it is off of 4 coming down the straight ? FIX THE FENCE. |
Robbie, HOW CAN THEY GET INSURANCE FOR A SPRINT CAR SHOW?

Re: Some off the press Twin Cities news
For the last 6 years I have provided service (at the urging of Cary Agajanian) as an expert wittness for the various racing insurance companies.
Most of these cases are spectator and participant (drivers and crews) liability lawsuits. The challenge is that insurance companies won't or don't set firm minimum standards. Most times we go by a loosley held policy of "Standard Of The Industry" Since I am retiring from Eldora at the end of 2012 and moving to Avon, I plan on offering loss prevention consulting services at no charge to speedways that ask. I will post my contact info after we get moved in January. Larry Kemp |

Why does it always go back to Dave Allison having to repair the fence, seems to me Joe Spiker sure changed a lot of fencing and other thing at lps, looks like to me if you are leasing the place your first priority would be to address the major problems before hauling in new dirt and pa systems, seems everyone always brings up the fence issue so that would have been my first priority, just sayin.

This came from the horses mouth it's self. He said me leasing this track is like you renting a house if you were the renter would you pay to put a new septic in a new floor in an sink a bunch of money into the house that's not yours and that you still have to pay lease on? He said its not my track i dont own it and may slready lose money,I said good point he told me it would be 6 digit figures don't remember exactly to put a new fence up and do it right. If he can buy the place next year he will fix the fence but can't sink a ton of money in it that he won't even get back

I think a better analogy or question is...... Why rent or buy a house with a leaky roof and broken foundation if you weren't planning on fixing it?
For the record. I am not trying to be an ass here. I love North Vernon, the track is a lot of fun to drive and I have had some great nights of racing there! I am just tired of the blatant lack of safety standards I see every year. I know it seems like I am picking on North Vernon but Mr. Allison and the new tenant has to do something, to not only protect the PARTICIPANTS and FANS but also to protect THEMSELVES. As always.. this is just my opinion. Posted via Mobile Device |
