Re: Little 500 week!

I would like to see my brother (Joe Swanson) do good, and also want to see Tim Cox do good since they are running my dads cars.

Nice to see all of you young people so interested in the Little 500 and best wishes to each driver mentioned. Because I am an old, make that OLD timer, I can tell you that I had the honor of attending this event from 1949 until 1954 when a job offer moved me across the country and I could never find time to return to the race until the 2007 run. I attended that event and sat in the fourth turn bleachers in approximately the same spot I sat in 1949 with my father. 'Back in the day' the cars were all roadsters from the Mutual organization but by 1954 the first 'sprint appearing' cars arrived from California. The eleven rows of 3 cars to start the Little 500 is rivaled in starts only by the start of the Knoxville Nationals. Enjoy the event this year all of you.

Jimmy McCune in the McCune family sprinter #88

He's fast! He just needs a little luck on his side.

According to the last report I got from Ryan Litt, there's close to 50 cars at Anderson for Pole Day. It's been raining off an on all afternoon.

Heard they're qualifying right now. Brian Tyler is on the pole with a new four-lap record over Tony Hunt & Chris Windom.
