Re: D1 midgets
Don Moore for president is a joke of a statement.... This series is to develop talent before they try and step up to run with the National guys. Don you sound like a bitter old man with your statements. Everytime I read a post on this board from you, you are complaining about how somebody has wronged you. I have seen your car run extremely well in the past maybe if you spent half the time on your racecar as you do on here complaining about everyone who has hosed you perhaps you wouldnt feel so disadvantaged.

Re: D1 midgets
This is word for word from a USAC brochure that is out....
"The Mopar D1 Midget Series is the final stage of the USAC Developmantal Racing ladder. The D1 Midget Series gives the racing competitor the feel of a full powered USAC Midget while competing on smaller sized tracks. The D1 Series allows drivers the opportunity to hone their skills before challenging the ranks of the USAC Mopar National Midget Series." Im not against people pointing out issues or opinions, my only issue is, that the issues that "I have seen" pointed out by Mr. Moore are all negative and personally bias. Instead of everyone always throwing whats wrong with everything around why dont we start throwing out some realistic ideas on how to better the sport. |

The 2011 USSA racing season will be the 1st to be run under the USSA Midget Racing Engine Initiative, a plan designed to dramatically reduce the cost of midget racing. USSA new engine rules package will for the first time in midget racing allow a wide range of DOHC stock block engines using electronic engine management. These 340 to 350 horsepower engines also carry a price cap of $22,000 including the electronics. The maximum displacement for the DOHC 4 valve engines is 2.5 liters. Using a weight scale based on the type of engine, USSA officials expect these engines to be competitive with the existing midget engines. “When building our 2011 schedule we looked at many diferent factors including the economy, the projected price of gas and diesel fuel as well as the schools in central Indiana moving towards a year round school calendar, when we were finalizing the season’s dates” said Don Kenyon USSA’s President. “We want our competitors and fans to be able to race and come to enjoy our events, not spend their hard earned dollars traveling,” Kenyon elaborated. www.kenyonmidgetracing.com :8::8::8::8::8: |

Not too big of a price difference, but it's a difference! The so called "National" tire is not going to last any longer than the "Regional" tire that USSA is using in my opinion. I mean, if you want to be fast then your going to need to buy new tires on a nightly basis. Just my opinion though.. |
