Yeah, smith19, Bruce Merz was a stock driver around here. The "Pat Patrick" at Indy was Oil multi-millionaire U.E. Pat Patrick. He owned the 1989 Indy 500 winner of Emerson Fittipaldi and the 1982 winner of Gordon Johncock. I also think he may have owned the 1973 winner of Gordon Johncock, as well. I believe the "Pat Patrick" the caller was talking about was our fellow "Sayler Parkian" (suburb of Cincinnati) Pat Patrick. That Pat was a legend in Late Models in this area for many, many years. Other than that little faux pas, it was a great show for area sprint car fans, driver and owners!!

Thanks to all who called in. The hosts were dumbfounded by the amount of phone calls and the lack of NASCAR calls.

I don't know a whole lot about LM racing but I do know who Pat Patrick is. I was shaking my head "no" to that question but one of the hosts said it was the same guy and then cut the caller off!

Thanks again to the IOWers out there that called in.

Enjoyed the show, was able to listen to all but the last 15 min. Wished I could have called in along with the other people who did.

You didn't miss that much. The first hour was Nascar, Nascar, commercials, Nascar, commercials, NHRA, commercials, IRL and commercials. I forgot also about the 90 second phone interview with Coons, too. The second hour was mostly the Hoffmans and they gave some great answers to some great questions whenever the guys who host the show could keep their mouth shut for more than 5 seconds. And oh yeah, commercials. I really enjoyed when the team could actually talk about racing. Thanks to them.

Sorry, I'm am getting older and I complain too much. Just ask my wife.:O:

I felt the same frustration Seadog!!! I called in at 7:15 and got airtime with the Hoffmans over an hour later. The hosts kept trying to be funny and basically interrupted everything when they finally did get to the Hoffmans in that second hour. Even with that, it was still better than listening to a bunch of crap about NECKCAR and DALE JUNNER.

Actually I was actually suprised by the number of calls they actually took. Like Cecil, I held over a hour and got cut off when they were answering. I understand the cutoff but it took me a minute to get the online feed back up.

Im pretty boring and rambling anyway, Had the stuff written down but wanted to cover as much as possible. Greets, HAR Plans, Value and excitement of the sport.

Thanks for doing this HAR. IT be nice if Seg man would get some other local tracks promotors ect on like at least once every two months.

Here's what we need:
The Hoffman Racing Report, Sunday from 6-7 PM. Richard as host, Rob doing color, Tim Executive Producer, Dan as Technical Adviser and Jake can call in an Andy Rooney type piece! With guest appearences from local racers such as Cecil, Nabor, Spencer, Mugavin, Harris, etc!
The above thought started out as a joke, but the more I think about it, the better it sounds. This would be good radio, good promotion for HAR, Kroger, Tide etc
P. S Where's the #69 icon???

I would be more than honored to take part in such a show. Although I don't think the race schedule would allow the team to participate every week. But it's a good thought.
Jake Simmons.
