If the speed test doesn't even work how can anyone trust that the streaming will work? Because they did it all Summer? PROBABLY NOT.

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
I suggest you have graphics capability to give lineups on the screen for the major races.

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
Everyone brings up valid points and concerns about live broadcasting.
I updated the Races On The Web website to hopefully answer some questions. I am not the normal webmaster for the website, nor am I the owner of ROTW. However I have worked exclusively with them since 2004 and I can say without a doubt, we NEVER do a Pay Per View broadcast unless we are completely confident in the equipment and available internet. We work with people to try and resolve technical issues. Even when people are signing up we try to make sure they complete the registration process correctly by emailing them and returning phone calls (if we get them). I have ran live broadcasts from Thunderbird Raceway (Michigan) for over 2 years and recently the last couple weeks of the season at Kokomo. I plan to be running the broadcast for the Rumble Series as well. ISF- I have read your concerns and tried to address them by fixing the ROTW website (was not aware of the issues before Monday evening) and with this post. I always encourage people to attend the races in person if at all possible, but if you can't I hope you would give us a chance. If you or anyone else has questions or concerns please feel free to contact me anytime: Jon Huston 574-206-6617 (if you get voicemail, please leave a message) jrhuston81@gmail.com |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
The major factor in a good stream this is that we will have a dedicated high speed line at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum.
Here is another way to test it: Also, we will have at least one camera set up Thursday, Dec. 30 so people can check out the stream and judge for themselves. We will have three camera's on racedays. Keep in mind we will be working on laying the rubber for the track down. By the time we are finished, the track will enable racing like you see in D.O.'s clip of the feature above. I feel pretty good about the company we have. After all, I don't want to have problems, and am taking steps to make sure it goes well. Check out their work both nights at the Kokomo Klash.. Look for a full event schedule here soon. Thanks, Tony Barhorst |
Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
Thanks for offering this. I will not be able to make the event this year because of schedule conflicts. I am willing to take the $5 gamble that everything will work. Always have a good time with this show. Now I just have to figure out how to hook it up from the laptop to the big screen......

Re: Races On The Web To PPV Fort Wayne
OK, if what I assume is the test video on the ROTW website of Kokomo in September worked satisfactorily then is it safe to assume we can expect the video of Fort Wayne will also work equally as well?
The Kokomo video, by the way, worked perfectly. |
