Steve, Chuck, somebody stole MY copy!!!

Any truth to the rumors that Marv Fish was seen skulking about in the Columbus, IN post office parking lot?:thumb

Stacie is correct. SC & M is not first class mail, nor second class, nor even mailed as a periodical. Doug gets a lower rate by sending it bulk rate.

If you move, you need to let them know ASAP, because the magazine will not be forwarded to your new address.

Dwight must have connections that the rest of us don't have.

:D...That will soon be changing, Danny. I am in the process of moving to the west side of Indy area and will have a new mail carrier. On the plus side I will be able to make more frequent visits to Bloomington and Lawrenceburg.:thumb

Maybe you guys all live to close to Ohio. I got mine here in Littleton,CO two days ago. Doug had a tough month with the photo captions, the Darland and Kuhn photos were reversed too. But I'm not complaining, it's 600 miles to the closest non-winged sprint car race, I read SC&M cover to cover and most of the adds to get my fix.:Steer

Re: NEW SPRINT and MIDGET

The main problem I've experienced with mags and newspapers is they are usually trashed when I get them.

I can deal with late arrival, but, damn, at least deliver it in one piece.

This is why I've let every subscription expire except for Flat Out and I'll let that expire later this year. They used to put their mags (Flat Out and Dirt Late Model) in plastic wrap and that was great. But, when Three Wide Media took over, the plastic wrap went away and every issue I've received since has been heavily damaged.

Now, I buy my mags at the racetrack or the bookstore. I may pay more, but at least I get a good copy.

The publisher's blame the internet for declining subscriptions. Without a doubt, that has an impact, but I think the damage and late delivery are major causes.

Hell, NSSN is mailed within 90 miles of my home and, it usually arrived 1-2 weeks late. I'd read it at a racetrack 600 miles away and then it would show up in my mailbox two weeks later.

I haven't been welcome in Columbus, IN since I referred to Tony Stewart as "The Rushville Rocket" one time. And, I was never one to "skulk about". I used to "skenck around" some until an irate husband convinced me that it was bad for my health. :action-smiley-049:

Me too, Jerry. Except it didn't arrive today either. Though I did get my copy of Circle Track.

It's a double edge sword of sorts. Magazines and newspapers are at the mercy of mid-20th century technology and delivery mechanisms while Internet web sites are almost instantaneous. Magazines and newspapers pummel you with ads while Internet web site's ads can be easily blocked with something like Ad Block Plus which leads the publishers to wonder if its really reasonable to monetize that form of publication at all.

I still think there is a place for both forms of media but, as a magazine and newspaper photographer, I am not foolish enough to think print media will last forever.

For the record Aero, I haven't received my copy of SC&M either and don't expect it for at least a week or two because of my own over-literate mailman problems. :angry-smiley-007:
