Re: Gas City Tentative Schedule
Amen to the comment that we have a Gas City to go to. I second the motion for one way radios. They have to run them at the USAC shows and it works well. The no throttle rule is a good one also. We haven't had anyone seriously injured in a long time on a racetrack. Whatever it takes to keep it that way. To take it a little further, The HANS should be mandatory. After seeing Damion Gardners helmet come off last year, I see that as a no-brainer.
I'm hoping one of the special shows is a motorcycle race before the MotoGP at Indy. DG |
Re: Gas City Tentative Schedule
Not sure when the MotoGP is this year but they have the AMA Pro Series "Hot Shoe National" on the tentative schedule for August 28th.
A winged sprint race sounds good. I think the non-wing sprints are great and have no problem with them, but once in a while it's nice to bring in something different. The All Star race they had a few years ago was fantastic and it would be nice to see them back. The late models are absent from the tentative schedule, probably because they haven't drawn the car count they used to the last two years. A better date would help or more than just one. As others have said, it is just good to know that GC will continue to operate this season. I'm glad to see they are allowing camaros in the UMP street stock class also. |
Re: Gas City Tentative Schedule
Glad to hear Gas City is still gonna be running.
I don't know where you guys get the idea radios should be maditory? If the officials can't radio down to a track official with a little chalk board to line em up how you figure their gonna radio 20 cars? Hans devices need to be left to the drivers discretion not to you fans. A hans device isn't gonna make the helmet fit better. Most drivers know when they can gas it a little before the race starts but Ive seen too many that don't so thats prolly a rule we gotta have. Go Gas City.... wish I lived closer so I could run a few shows there. |

Yeah I forgot about that, thats why Shane "the throttle" Cottle quit running there because he kicked everybodys a$$ on American Racers so Hoosier had to get that stopped.
We all know Hoosier is paying Tracks/Promotors $$$ to put these tire rules in effect. I hate that junky DT-3 tire. If we got have a tire rule why don't we alternate Manufactures every year so one tire company doesn't have a monopoly on it??? Thought that was the American way? |

Re: Gas City Tentative Schedule
One way radios is a big no. WHY? You know who you are behind 3/4 of the time you are just trying to cheat the guy in front of you. Just another thing the racer has to pay for the radio. Hans needs to be left up to the driver. Last 3 years how many broken necks have we had in our sport. And the DT3 really what is the big deal everyone has to run it. It is only one corner of the car. And Yes Hoosier does give the track money and then jiggs puts the money from 8th on back to last. so how does that not help the racers. Why change something that isnt broke. If there is no tire rule will there be more fans in the stands? If there are radios will that make more people buy hotdogs? Nope. Now if they knew going in to the track that someones helemt was going to fly off that that would get fans there.

Thank you Billy, very well said.
What I hate about the Tire rule is that someone is making you BUY a junky tire for $180 and it has to be from 1 Manufacturer. That isn't fair no matter how you look at it. Why does anybody have the right to tell you how to spend your money??? Way to go on the 5 Harf nights. Thats a great deal for the fans!!!:applaud: For the one guy who was complaining about not having enough special shows, whats up with that? From what I read on here the weekly shows up there are awesome. We don't have that down here, all we have IS special shows. |
