I wonder who took the hit? Was it the track? Or was it WoO? I think in many cases the WoO are the ones promoting the event likely with different deals as far as who gets what share of the money taken in.

How many companies like SLS exist? They have eleven WoO dates for 2025. Not sure what their geographical reach is, but know they've also been in Iowa in the past.

Nonwings could only dream of this schedule and payouts, unfortunately.

Knoxville's banquet was last night. They handed out $300,000 to their weekly competitors. Counting on my fingers, the point fund was a little over $160,000. The rest was contingency awards. I've already seen one thing that was won in a random draw last night for sale for $4000.

They also announced that Keizer wheels will give a $100.000 bonus to next year's Nationals winner if they're on Keizer wheels and hubs.

Obviously Knoxville's a unicorn, but that's a lot of money for one race track.

No. And no reason too… they host the highest paying races in the world for sprint cars, they attract many huge crowds with some being sellouts

This is going to make a few mad. WOO is a national series. The current state of wingless is a reginal model. Yes USAC claims to be a national series, but really they move around to the different reginal pockets. When they have races outside of these areas the crowd and car counts suffer. Nationwide, there are far more wing cars and fans. Does not mean the racing is better, just far more wing cars and fans.

It hasn’t hurt established events yet, but not surprising that newer events outside of summer months in non sprint car hotbeds struggled.

Under the old purse structure, you’re likely looking at a $10-15k hit, and maybe you try it again. But at $35k, probably not any time soon.

Or a better date. It was chilly that weekend. As much as I love racing, it's hard to sit in the stands when it's 40 degrees especially when you can just watch it at home. I fully support going to races but sometimes I tap out depending on weather
