Re: RT66 Outlaws this weekend

Glad to see them back at Joliet but dang Northern Illinois in middle of October isn't doing them much favors
If they had this in middle of summer or spring, for sure a big crowd! Only about 51 degrees out.
Hope the WOO doesn't count this as a failure

I stand corrected he was in the Badger Cars. Wondering if he run these?

2023 BMARA Champion Adam Taylor made his WingLESS debut last night. 2nd in the heat, 7th in the feature.

I know they invited UMSS cars to compete last night. Hear they're working out how to get more crossover between the two series.

The racing was good last night but the temperature has me heading back east today.

Do they still have the fans driving about two miles from the road to the parking lot via various service roads, chain link fence chicanes, and at least one hairpin?

Yes they do Mike

If you look on FB there are pics of he and Koifoid posing together with their trophies which I thought was pretty cool.

What a difference a day makes. Friday was bogged down with inefficiency and fuel stops. The Salvation was the Wisconsin Wingless. The typical Friday traffic on 80 was miserable. I was cold and disappointed Friday night to the point that I was considering staying home Saturday. Glad I didn’t. It’s wings, so you have to take that into consideration, but overall an enjoyable night Saturday. I really would like to see this venue used more, but I know from being involved there in the early days, there’s a lot of overhead. It’s not a cheap night at the races. I hope this event stays on the calendar, but one thing is for sure that many of us who are close to there know, don’t bank on that beautiful weather every year. This past weekend was about as good as you could ask for in the middle of October

Seems like a good track for winged sprints. Didn’t rubber up, stayed 2 grooved for the whole race.

When Donny Schatz is able to pass a bunch of cars, it’s usually an indication the race track is good.

Friday nights outside of Summer are usually a bit light at the gate but it seems like they had a good crowd Saturday.
