Re: Race Track Locator: Historic
I live in Anderson but work at DeVoe Chevrolet in Alexandria. Some day this week or next on my lunch I would like to go see this track(or whats left)since I have heard of it and the talk about it on here has sparked my interest to go see it for myself. But which truck dock is this behind exactly? And will I get in trouble going there? Thanks ahead of time for any info.

If we can't work this out I would be happy to schedule something for a Saturday or Sunday and I could pick you up and we could take a look. Be sure to wear boots cause it will be rather dirty for sure. Let me know. |
Re: Race Track Locator: Historic
I found the track on Google earth. You can see the track (half) and exactly how to get there. It is even marked, just enter Armscamp Speedway and it will take you right too it.
Alexandria, IN 40.278530, -85.687241+40° 16' 42.71", -85° 41' 14.07" Started as 1/5th dirt midget track. Highly popular. Built 1940-41. First race 7-12-41. Last race 1958 on concrete track. 1/5th dirt track turn can be noticed in the bottom of the infield of 1/4 mile concrete track.
