When you looked at the Xtreme schedule last year, it was very much co-dependent on POWRi. They had many of the same dates co-sanctioned. Even this year with 34 dates, 12 of them or co-sanctioned with POWRi.

It seemed that many people were reserved to see if it was going to be a stand alone entity or just a rebranded POWRi series.

Except for a few teams there is not as much cross over between POWRi and USAC as you would think that there would be.

Well, obviously by no longer having that tour, someone decided it was no longer feasible. Whether that was the sanctioning body or promoters, someone "gave up on it" at least for the time being.

How were the crowds when USAC was out there?

Where the midgets ever the headliner or did they share the card with winged sprints or smthn?

The crowds were great, yes the midgets were the headliner usually with micros as another division. USAC pretty much wrecked the ARDC and the small midget teams couldn't afford to compete anymore and the club all but died. I know i'm not the only PA fan that will be happy to see some midget action at my local tracks.

How is ARDC doing since they went to production-based engines?

It looks like they had a few races last year and around a dozen cars or so. I think everyone went to the speedsters and now are not really gonna jump that ship back to the midgets. Thats just what it looks like from the outside looking in.

As if ARDC was healthy when USAC stepped in? Did they go the D2 route?

Badger engine rules. 2.4l production-based but 100hp more than a true D2 engine.

The ARDC was doing fine until club officials decided the usac route was better for a few teams. Car counts and the racing were great until the club changed direction. It got to the point that if you didn't have a national type of program going you didn't have a chance at victory, car counts dropped quickly and it was quite sad. As far as I know, Shannon Mausteller is keeping the ARDC going so that would be your contact as far as their rules go.
