Here's one for you Young Oltimer. It begs the question, "Who was Jack Ziegler?"

Re: Stenhouse Puzzle

Hi Al,
"Ziggy" was a Sprint Car/Silver Crown driver from Marshall, IL. He was the 1986 Paragon Speedway Champ. I worked on his car from '86 to about '89; when he drove for Don Glass (G&W Excavators #76) of Indianapolis. I know he ran everywhere from Granite City to Eldora, USAC etc... I don't know much about his early career; but we were running Paragon on a regular basis when they began racing winged cars every week. Ziggy said at the time that it was hard to break a 25 year-old habit of running wingless and get used to having the wing on top. He stopped driving in 1989 at about age 50. Jack was a good sprint car driver and one helluva nice guy. He was very patient with an enthusiatic 'NOOB' and I was fortunate to know him and learn from him. If anyone knows Jack or how to get in touch with him please PM me.

Hey Kevin,

Thank you for the information. A buddy of mine found that picture on an old program (most likely a Granite City program), and sent it to me because I'm an Amati fan, and I always wondered who Jack was. He apparently was pretty good given the company in the photo, and to be leading those guys? I would have a copy of it hanging above my mantel if it were me! Again, thank you.
