Re: Will T.H.A.T have the live broadcast tonight?
Thanks to everyone for the updates. Those of us stuck at home really appreciate it. I might add that J.J. picked up a cool $50,000 bonus for winning the two nights in a row at IRP and the Indy mile. Afterwards they announced it would be an annual thing, but unfortunately it isn't. He even participated in the 1/4 midget (?) race with the kids on the front stretch. Talk about knees to the sky.
Thanks again to everyone. Frank Daigh |
Re: Will T.H.A.T have the live broadcast tonight?
Just got home and tossed my clothes in the washer. Great race, lousy dust!!!
Mighty glad to see THAT running under any circumstance. Great run by Brian Tyler. Stanbrough's bad luck continues. Nice crowd for weeknight. :checkered: |
Re: Will T.H.A.T have the live broadcast tonight?
Even though it was dusty for those in the stands, this was a hell of a race. Many lead changes in the beginning. The slide job swapping contest between DD and Levi was especially fun to watch. Then, once DD grabbed the lead, there were a lot of great battles throughout the field and quite a battle between Dave and the concrete walls. He really played with fire, too many times to mention. The last one, when he ricocheted off the turn 4 wall and went almost completely sideways, was one of the highlights of the race. That was a miracle save. And amazing that he didn't tear his right rear to pieces. It was a great night at the Action Track.

Re: Will T.H.A.T have the live broadcast tonight?
I didnt think DD would be able to stay on the outside after about half way but he drove it like he stole it for the win.. He only made one mistake that i saw and that was with about 5 to go when his right rear pounded the turn 4 wall, but got it together with Coons all over him. The night at the action track was very very nice!! I will let the others complain about the dust tonight,I had way to good of time to not give alot of credit to the THAT crew..
There are alot of races in the Indy area this weekend you will have a hard time finding a better race then we saw tonight!:applaud: |
Re: Will T.H.A.T have the live broadcast tonight?
The dust wasn't bad at all in the infield. The only problem with visibilty was seeing the turn 4 area. Great race, glad I went. :thumb Hopefully they can get the tunnel to quit flooding. We missed the first two hot lap sessions standing in line to get across the track, but it sounded interesting.:D

Re: Will T.H.A.T have the live broadcast tonight?
I was outside turn 4 in the stand and it sucked with dust BUT !
What a race!!!! I talked with Chris and Tim after the race and they wanted a better track and would liked to worked it before the 100 laps while the semi ran! BUT ! No semi with 24 cars. Time to kill to the scheduled main start and the sun. Should they of done that ???? Somebody missed a good chance to rework the track. No need to point fingers the night is done. Don't throw the THAT Group under the bus and don't throw USAC. After Sprintweek and the Sumar I'm sure that the tracks and USAC will be doing something about the dust and track surfaces. Lots of pizzlin about dust. The tracks and USAC really do have people smart enough to realize this needs to be fixed. Lets blame DST & EST with the sun ! Since Indiana changed time zones more tracks are struggling with preping a track. Plus cost of fuel. Bottom line was !! Damn I got dirty, but the race I saw tonight who gives a ***** ! It was bad but watching DD & Coondog running lest that 8 inches and less, off the turn 4 wall. I looked walking into the pits and the dirt was piled 14 16 inches up on the wall and the track surface was straight down. They were rockin' the top on both ends. The slide jobs early in the race were some of the best ever. So thanks THAT & USAC & the drivers for tonight. Some fans did leave early but those who stayed were treated to the best silver crown race I've seen and I heard many others talking about the racing. Highlights at Kelly's Monday night and USAC soon. :dologob: ps - The Foxco team's RR was losing air afterwards, it was slowly going down rolling across the scales. Tyler Walker last to 6th to crashed. Brian Tyler up to 3rd from deep. Hot laps were pretty awesome. On the top and hard on the gas. ps#2 Thanks Chuck for the heads up updates and everyone else who helped tonight. |
Re: Will T.H.A.T have the live broadcast tonight?
And how about Mat Neely? From the back to the Top 5. Spins and back to the Top 5, again. That team was stout tonight.
