Re: Lps 8/8
It was another night at LPS with over 120 cars in the pits and a real nice crowd. Brady Short had to earn it, tonight, but once he got the lead, he pulled away and won convincingly. Jeff Bland pulled out to the early lead and led the majority of the laps. Short had to really wrestle second away from Mitch Wissmiller and really battle Bland to get the lead. In the last ten laps Shane Cottle was a real force, too on the bottom and looked to have a chance. But just as he had been to Brady, Bland proved to be a tough out for Shane to claim the second position and Brady was just too far gone by the time Cottle got his chance to set sail for the leader. In the end, even though there was no doubt who was going to win, in Brady's wake there was a lot of really good racing. There was a group of cars, that included Brent Beauchamp, AJ Hopkins, Casey Shuman and Wissmiller that were just all over one another for most of the second half of that race. It was another entertaining night at one of my favorite tracks to go watch a race at. I had a bird's eye view, hanging out on the LPS deck with some of my favorite IOW friends. And the highlight of the night, no doubt was getting to visit with Sprintmandave Dave Foist for the first time this year. He's just one of the best guys around and it's great to see him out and about. And seeing that Joe Bennett made his comeback to LPS this weekend was another highlight of this 2 day show. I got to talk to Joe Friday night and that was great, because LPS isn't the same without Agar around and he seemed really happy to be back in his element.
