A 5 min. red flag??????? ummm doubtful it'll be that fast, I would imagine 15 mins. would be quick and doubtful they can do that. It's simple for me to decide if I close my business up ( and lose money) and go, I just ask myself if this is something I would enjoy seeing. Without red flag pitstop I'm there, with a red flag then I'm waiting untill Little 500 on saturday night. This isn't going to "save" Silver Crown racing or the Hoosied Hundred, only time and hard work by USAC AND the promoters AND the car owners/racers will....... IMHO I think this format will HURT far more than help because a lot of us long time fans will stay away.....

Why does the Hoosier 100 need Bob Sargent or any other outside promoter? Why doesn't USAC put their own money behind their product and promote it themselves? They are the ones who are responsible for the declining popularity with that ridiculous failed Gold Crown Series and not finding a date to reschedule the Hoosier 100 when it gets rained out.

Try it, bring it, I've been to 35 straight at DuQuoin and I will support this promoter... God forbid that we lose champ cars on the dirt miles!

Real simple, I have been to 4 of these races. The first 2 i paid for the 2nd 2 were free. All 4 were train races. Not hardly any passing at all. I said after the 2nd race i would not go back unless it was free. The mods are a good addition to this year. Honestly don't think they will put on a good show, but hopefully it will attract alot of cars in. If the promoter really wanted to pack the stands he should go after the Lucas oil dirt late models. They pull in huge crowds, and you can put a huge crowd in that place. I know this goes against the whole open wheel thing, and might over shadow the sc race some, but the racing has been bad for a long time. If it rains the race gets canceled. Its a show that I had totally written off until this year. Honestly i'm just glad someone is tring to do something with this race. Is the red flag the answer, I have no clue. To the people on here cring about tradition, answer me 1 question. Is it better for this race to continue FOR tradition with 1 red flag, or is it better to not have any race at all?

By the way how crazy is this promoter. Check out the fee's for this race. Indy purse not posted yet, but the Iowa purse was GRAND TOTAL—$48,400.00 (straight of USAC website) + Sanctioning fee. In 2008 I was given a quoat for $15,000 to rent the Grandstands. Equipment, fuel, insurance, track workers, ticket people, fire and saftey, security ??? It would take no time at all to have $75,000 wrapped up in this event. You invest this much, do what you got to do to break even. i think I may give this race another chance, since they are tring to make it better.

It has been probably ten years since I saw my last Indy mile race. Do I like the idea of the red. NO. But Im not really sure how it will play out. I plan on being there in person to see it for myself and support our friends and drivers who are doing what they love.

I'm glad they're willing to think outside the box in order to breathe some life into such a classic race. As has been noted on this board ad nausea, there are not a ton of passing chances in these 100 mile races. This will provide the drivers with another opportunity to make a move before having to get back into line on the rail.
